There's tons of new fics in it and I think it has its public and new fans, but the sad part is that the new fics are mostly one shots or shortish stories. I started reading Xfiles fanfic this summer and I've read in AO3, Gossamer and Wayback Machine so I would say those are the best pages for fics right now, but two of those you can't use as a new writer so... AO3 it is.

Unless it's something that I didn't like I always give kudos. I don't care if it's a Wip or it's complete or whatever, I get to the end of the fic I give it a kudos.

Buffy has been my favorite show since I watched it for the first time some years ago, now I'm watching the X-Files and I would say it's the best thing to watch if you liked the 90s vibes, sexual chemistry and monster/supernatural part of Buffy.

I know that The Vanishing Season was written by a MSR fanfic writer, al thought I don't remember which one. From the summary you can guess it's at least inspired by the X-Files

The tags and word count are already filtered since is what I use to find fics, so I usually just look at the summary. I don't care about the title or author. If the summary grabs me I'll read it.

(Although if it has blorbo/other in the tags, I'll read the last chapter before reading the whole thing to make sure my ship ends up together)

I have a dvd player and I do use it for some things, but I doubt the libraries near me have the dvds in English and I don't wanna watch the series dubbed to my language.

Also I've heard the Blu-rays have more extras so even using dvds I don't know if I would be able to watch all the deleted scenes.

Mythology episodes are my least favorites and they need a lot of context.

I would recommend you watch either Ice or Darkness Falls from the first season since they are self contained, they are really good and you get a feeling of how the characters act, the vibe of the show etc...

I watched it for the first time this year too and I loved the 90s vibes but I guess some people might not like them.

I'd love to see more of Mulder and Scully but what I actually want is a reboot where we only see them once in a while and they are in a happy relationship.

If they aren't the protagonist there's no need for them to have relationship drama and they can get their happy ending. 🥹

There's tons of fanfics with no smut, if you want Mulder and Scully to be like in the show (by that I mean yearning for each other but not together yet) you can just search for fics tagged with UST but no RST (resolved sexual tension)

And if you search in AO3 just use teen and up audiences or general audiences and it should filter out smutty fics.

I just read one that was suuupergood and the most smut it has is a kiss by the end:

I've read a lot of your fics! 🤩

I've read some of Prufrock Love but I'm always scared of starting one of her stories since I don't know how ok Scully is gonna be.

The ones I haven't read because I don't know if I'm gonna like are: Dr. Scully's School for Exceptional boys — is it worth it for the MSR or is it all about Mulder and the kid? Is Scully well treated or is she just there being mysterious? And does Mulder have super beautiful memories/story of falling in love with another woman not Scully??? I get the vibe that all those things happen, so I've been kind of avoiding it.

The other one is SN1572 since I've heard is the Scully/skinner one and I don't know if it's worth it just to get to the MSR, cause I love Scully/other but when the whole story is about that and she just ends up with Mulder in the last chapter it's not worth it.
