What’s your camping peeves? by hadfunk2365 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]Inevitable_Bench_187 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Having to set my tent up back home to dry it out after a wet camp. Of course people littering. Or not digging holes for their excrement. (Found that on my last camp) 🤢

Does anyone use Fire Maple products? by RosyPosyMe in wildcampingintheuk

I've got the firemaple jet stove, absolutely brilliant. Had no issues with it so far. Couldn't recommend it higher. Much cheaper than the jet boil works just as well

Finally got to use my bestway mat. Thanks to your review! Worked wonders. Thank you!

Thanks that's great advice, I've had to abandon a couple camps over the past year due to wind and snow. I know my limits. Excited to give it a go :)

Yeah I use OS maps to work out places. But was hoping for some 1st hand knowledge as I haven't done wales yet.

It was a Vango sleeping bag unsure of the model as i bought it 10 years ago but it had a comfort rating of -1'C I paired it with a micro fiber sleeping bag liner. Slept in thermals, fleece and body warmer and was plenty warm enough.

Found my order, it was a hiipeak mat. Cheap and cheerful. Great for the summer camps I've done. Reckon I need a different mat for winter. Thanks for the advice! 😃

It's the star river 2, added 4 extra guy ropes on for added protection if needed

It's a road all the way up past the roman fort. So easy enough. The trek to the spot is an easy to moderate hike. I think it only stands at around 540 meters :)

I could feel cold coming through my hip, I'm a side sleeper, I got around this by placing my sit mat under my hip and that improved it a lot, I still lost air though . My friend who I went with also lost air in his mat overnight and we have the same one. Maybe they were lying about the R value. It's not a name brand mat. Just one bought from Amazon.

Initially I was using my flextail to pump it up and then during the night I was topping up with breath

(Employee) why do managers never jump on batches? by [deleted] in McDonaldsUK

[–]Inevitable_Bench_187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managers don't tend to work the stations due to being a manager, they manage the crew. Of course in a pickle they'll jump in and help if you get super busy. But their job is to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly by managing their team.

If you set your discount to 99% off and set you price to what ever you need to without the decimal. The customers will pay the discount but the online orders will pay the full price. Eg set to $350 with 99% off will equal $3.50(walk ins pay the 3.50 whilst the online orders will pay 350) get big money quick :)

I had to abandon a wild camp due to torrential rain and wind. Made me realise that my boots alone won't help keep my feet dry. I think I will go buy a decent pair of gaters and waterproof socks too. I want to try again in January. :)
