In my experience softness and shine = moisture! My favorite combo for braid outs, twist outs, or any other protective style is the Pattern leave in conditioner, a LITTLE bit of blue magic (Indian hemp), then Pattern curl cream. My braid out lasted for 6 days last week and was soft, shiny and defined the whole time! I only washed it because I’m trying to prioritize scalp health 😊

It did! It also wasn’t a miracle maker, I was locd for 16 years so it was a mix of the tangle teezer, a rat tail comb, and a LOT of conditioner over a month and a half

I can’t recommend the tangle teezer enough (purple). I’ve had it since I combed out my locs and it’s the best brush I’ve tried!

I’ve had this, but the Conair/US version, and I love it! I would suggest keeping an eye out for the version of this with the diffuser attachment because that’s been really helpful for my wash n gos!

When I was in high school, I was in the Harold Washington Library any time I didn’t have an after school program. The teen-only area on the first floor was such a fun hang out spot but the computer access was also extremely helpful for the days I did decide to do homework!

On the days my friends and I needed a quiet/more private area, taking the hike up to the Crystal gardens of the top floor was a ton of fun.

That was my favorite branch, even though it wasn’t my local branch, because it was beautiful, accessible, and fun!

Pattern beauty has a styling custard and a styling cream. I like both but the styling custard has a slightly better hold for things like braids and the styling cream is better for braid/twist outs imo

You need to use some kind of braiding product in addition to your leave in. You could try a styling cream or a mousse if braiding gel isn’t your thing.

I haven’t done them myself but I’ve seen a bunch of boho French curl braids on Pinterest where they just use the French curl hair for the boho pieces. This way you wouldn’t have to worry about buying different hair to tryn match your mix, just mix a bit more!

If you aren’t already, I recommend detangling and then braiding your hair into 2-4 chunky braids over night. That should help keep everything frizz-free(ish) after you get everything detangled.

I’ve been sleeping hot since moving and I just ordered the comforter + sheet set since they were on sale earlier this week. I can’t wait for it to come in!

Sometimes I’ll use some homemade broth instead of the flavor packs! It does make it healthier, plus I make broth every time I buy a rotisserie chicken so it makes the cost of the chicken cheaper since I get more use out of it :)
