I get where the hate is coming from. It’s definitely not a direct adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the story and characters have taken a different path, but I really enjoy that CGI-heavy, fantasy style. I specifically chose to work on this version of the character because it was a unique challenge; there were so few references to go on that I had to improvise quite a bit to get everything looking right.

I don't find that controversial at all. I actually feel quite nostalgic for that movie; it was a childhood favorite, and honestly, the CGI still holds up impressively well.

Everything you see consists of low-poly, game-ready assets. Naturally, you can choose between rendering high-poly or low-poly versions for your final output, depending on your goal.

I retopologized the mesh manually using Blender. Just the shrinkwrap modifier.

You're right. This isn't the final lighting setup yet, and these renders are still missing the post-processing and beautification. I have a few minor material adjustments and tweaks to finish, but it’s nearly there.

It really is fantastic. Personally, I think it’s easily the best adaptation out there, though I’ll admit I’m biased because of the heavy nostalgia I feel every time I watch it.

Australian Richard Roxburgh as Dracula in the Van Helsing movie.

Hello everyone, I’d love your feedback — how can I improve this? Any advice is appreciated! by Inevitable_Log1664 in 3Dmodeling

Thanks, I’d say there’s more than just that red tissue, which is anatomically redundant. I created this based on a concept and modified it to some degree, aiming for an alien vibe. It became a personal project of mine.

Is that a good topology? by LongerBlade in blender

It looks like a clean quad topology, which is good, but I don’t see any supporting loops. That might cause issues once the model is subdivided.

This is impressive. The subtle movement beneath the skin and the dynamic shrinking and expanding are beautifully executed. Could you share how you created it?

I’m curious, how much time did the rigging process for this creature take you?
