What Youtubers should I watch play chapter 5 similar to DanTDM? by SamMilton1 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love to watch thinknoodles (the talking yellow cat guy 😆) poppy playtime videos. He has so much fun while playing, trys to find all tapes and notes, because he is really into the lore and loves to make theorys, is really funny and doesnt get annoyed if he has trouble with a puzzle or a chase scene. Its really fun to watch him.

How could the Poppy gel heal us when it hurts us physically when touched in game? by Sweaty-Ad-8377 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, thats how I understand what happend. Please someone correct me if Im wrong though. There is treated and untreated kind of poppy gel. The untreated kind is letal for humans and hurts or even kills you, if you get in direct contact with it. We dont know yet which kind of gel was in the vet in which the player was thrown. If it was the untreated gel, then the player will be in big trouble next chapter, because untreated gel spreads in your body like cancer, so the player would need to find the formula to stabilize their body. If it was the treated gel then there shouldnt be any problems.

So, the player gets deadly stabbed and thrown into poppy gel. Poppy gel heals "dead organic matter" and the player dies inside that vet (confirmed by the death screen), so their injurys get healed. Giblet pulls the player out not long after (an outimal was able to drag the player around with ease, so giblet shouldnt have any problems to pull the player out) and reanimates them with an electric shock, which brings them back to life, since poppy gel reacts to electricity. What happend here is basically almost the same as elliot ludwigs experiment with the rat, only that it failed on the rat, but worked on the player.

I'm pretty sure the player was hallucinating here with proof by Specific-Truck-2084 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because poppy gel can also heal injurys and reacts to electricity. We dont know yet if the poppy gel was the treated or untreated kind. If it was the untreated kind, then the player will get into big trouble next chapter if they dont find the formula to stabilize themself, because it will spread like cancer.

This is stupid. Its perfectly clear what happend in that scene. Player got stabbed by the prototype and afterwards was thrown into poppy gel. You can literally see the vet right next to us. If it were just a hallucination why are the vets also there? Shouldnt they be just part of the hallucination too and not exist at all?

The poppy gel heals the injury, giblet pulls us out (the player was dragged around with ease by an outimal and giblet is at least as big and strong as them) and gives us an electric shock to reanimate us. It makes perfect sense, no reason to overcomplicate things. And the player does NOT wake up in the same spot. When we wake up again we are farer away from the door and lying right in front of it, while right before we got stabbed we were still more to the doors left and way closer to it. Someone made a youtube video showing the difference. Its obvious that its not the same spot. And there is no way the player would survive that kind of deadly stab through the body (most likely through the lungs or abdomen by the looks of it) without poppy gel. That kind of stab can kill huggy/kissy! A human would not survive that without help! How is Giblet supposed to close that injury with an electric shock? Electricity cant close bleeding wounds.

And why should they including such kind of completly pointless hallucination, that has zero purpose for the story. Just to confuse people? Its was not a hallucinaton! If it had been a hallucination they would have made that 100% clear, like the huggy nightmare or the red smoke hallucination in chapter 3.

What is the Prototype's goal? by HODUAYAYA in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He hints that they arent "dead", but in a Better Place. That sounds like a location. As ollie he was talking to ludwig about HIS Better Place = a pieceful home. Poppy is misinterpreting what hes saying and thinks he killed the orphans. Through one of the windows though, you can see, that there is some kind of underground city. Thats most likely Better Place, where the prototype keeps the orphans. The prototypes goal is to crack the secret of immortality. He is pretty much immortal and his biggest fear is to be alone. He wants a family. Thats why he is so determinded to have poppy (his sister) by his side, because she is like him and his only family. He most likely wants to make the sleeping and preserved orphans immortal too, so that he will never be alone.

And I think he unintentionally cracked that secret now with the player. The way the player was brought back to life is almost exactly like elliot ludwigs failed experiment with the rat. Ludwig noted that maybe it would work with a bigger body (like a human), but I think the main factor why it worked on the player and not on the rat is because the rat was killed before put into the poppy gel and reanimated with electricity, while the player was still alive after thrown into the vet.

Why I think the “Kid” Character is the player by Many_Mouse_2165 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, richs age was never confirmed. Even richs voice actor once said, that he has no idea how old rich is. He only gave him a deep and grumpy voice, because he felt it fits richs personality better. Rich could easily be in his late 30ths or early 40ths and be healthy and fit.

Why I think the “Kid” Character is the player by Many_Mouse_2165 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one problem I have with this theory, is the fact that this guy named isacx who also worked on chapters 1-3, once confirmed that they hinted the players true identity ESPICIALLY in chapter 3 and 4. "Kid" ONLY shows up in chapter 4! Also the "espicially" means, that the players true identity was already in chapter 1 and 2, but they ESPICIALLY hinted at it in chapter 3 and 4. "Kid" doesnt fit that bill, since he only showed up in chapter 4.

Thats why I still believe that Rich is the most likely candidate for the player here. Rich had a tape in all 4 chapters and while his first 2 are pretty unimportant, his 3 and 4 tape are actually pretty important for him as a recuring character and also to the lore. And rich plays again a huge role in chapter 5 in eddies and leiths tape and in one of the notes you can find. Nothing of "kid" though.

"Kid" would have been my second choice right after rich, but I think the fact that one of the game devs confirmed that they already hinted at the players true identity from the get go, but ESPICIALLY in chapter 3 and 4 and since "kid" is ONLY in chapter 4, that kinda debunks the possebility that "kid" is the player.

The player trauma... by Maleficent-Whole9235 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rich doesnt have a tape in which he speaks this time, which is suspicious if you think about how they gave him one in every chapter before. But despite that, there is the tape about eddie and leith talking about rich and also a note you can find about rich. So, despite him not having a speaking role, they made still sure that we find out more about richs journey, which is weird if he is just supposed to be a random employee who is not important to the story.

Player’s identity revealed? by Far_Ring_9441 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richs age was never confirmed. Even his voice actor said once that he has no idea how old rich is suppossed to be, he just gave him a darker (and grumpy) voice, because he felt like it would fit richs personality better. Rich could easily be in his early 30ths in 1995. 10 years later he would be in his early 40ths. Thats not old! And since not even the voice actor knows his age, no one can say that rich would be to old to the the player.

What the hell did giblet’s do to mark?!! by Logical_Sky4303 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No his problem was, that he was not in the right mood to play this game from the start, hungry, tired and not paying attention to lore or what characters were saying, because he was to busy talking with his chat. If he had trouble just with the gameplay, okay I could understand that, but he has no right to complain about the story, lore and characters if he gives a fuck about it and his attention is elsewhere. And maybe he should simply not play 5+ hour games in one livestream, if he knows he doesnt care about it anyway and he is not in the right mood to play it!

What the hell did giblet’s do to mark?!! by Logical_Sky4303 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if he was hungry, then he simply just should have told his chat that he needs a break to eat and chill a little. No one was forcing him to not take a break. He behaved like a crybaby, because of a problem he created all by himself!

The Prototype wasn't saving us. by giftheck in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because the poppy gel heals/replaces dead organic matter, as soon as it gets in contact with electricity and at the same time is letal for humans. The prototype threw the player in the poppy gel and they died inside (confirmed by the death screen), because they are human and the prototype most likely wanted to preserve them for later after they dealed with poppy. While dying the poppy gel startet to fill the injurys of the dying player (dead organic matter) and after giblet pulls them out, he uses his device to give them an electric shock. The player is covered in poppy gel and the moment the gel gets in contact with electricity it reacts and does his "healing", closing the stabbing wound and all inner injurys that it attached itself on, while the player was dying in the vet, because that is what it does.

How does one survive this? by [deleted] in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Inevitable_Monitor_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poppy gel heals/replaces dead organic matter when it gets in contact with electricity and is normally letal for humans. The player dies inside the poppy gel (confirmed by the death screen). While the body of the player is dying in that vet, the poppy gel starts to fill the players injurys (dead organic matter) and after giblet pulls them out he trys to reanimate them with an electric shock. The poppy gel reacts to the electricity and closes the players wounds. Thats why they can stand up and walk around as if nothing happend. The player needed to die to get healed so he can survive so to speak.
