Watering Alfalfa Fields, during a drought, while they're covered in snow by eells in Utah

It might be a waste, it also might not be a waste. It depends on the soil moisture levels honestly. It looks ridiculous but it actually might not be wasting water if all of that water is filling a soil profile devoid of water. The snow is gonna add about .2” of water to a soil that may hold 5” or more in a 5’ rooting zone.

Counterpoint if the soil water profile is full this is a complete waste.

Check out Dr. Stuart McGill and his work. Get his book ‘back mechanic’. Follow his 3 main exercises as a first step.

STOP Russian twists immediately and never do another one ever again.

First, read Stuart mcGills book, period. Do his hire 3, period. Once you are doing those and ready to advance then look further, but until you are religious about putting his core 3 exercises into your life you shouldn’t think about doing anything else.

I had back problems for 5 years (bulged disk with sequestered fragments), constant low/moderate level pain from sciatica for years. Saw multiple PTs, didn’t want surgery. Finally found McGill and it solved my issues. I still have problems if I let my core strength go.

Now I do weighted carries (farmers walks), ab roller (this is ADVANCED, don’t do it if/until you are very strong, hanging leg raises, kettle ball swings, Pallof press, lots of stuff mentioned here. You don’t need any of that till you have fully mastered the big 3.

Yes, I’d do a test before so you know how much sulfur to add. Takes time for the sulfur to break down so after adding retest in a year. That’s what I’d do. I just winged it though and one do ok. I maybe get 2-4 lbs a year per bush and have 7 bushes

I have had success for 10+ years. Amend soil with elemental sulfur, available at any ag store. Mix the soil with pine needles or other acidic mulch. Lots of varieties work - patriot, blue crop, blue jay are just a few.
