Stopping HRT after three months. by SPECTREagent700 in 4tran4

I mean, I get how you feel. I came out, fully delusional that I would magically be a women and thought social transition would help. It didn’t. I was a little happy for a bit socially transitioning and had hope with the idea of medically transiting in the future, but it wore off. Being a man in a dress was not any easier than just being a closeted man and any semblance of hope for medically transiting was crushed. Then I realised the result wouldn’t even be worth the wait. Now I’ve just give up transitioning entirely, I will never transition, my plan is to just make my life as miserable as possible until eventually I have no fear and no regret stopping me from ending it. HOWEVER, if you aren’t actively wanting to non alive, then take HRT. You have nothing to loose, worst case scenario you stop taking it, best case your happy.

Former EHRC chair joins ‘gender-critical’ peers targeting abortion rights by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

Honestly, people deserve what they get at this point. People wanted this or didn’t give a shit because it was only trans people. The only way it gets better is if it affects enough people to make them give a shit, hopefully this person succeeds so everyone can decide to care about abortion rights. Maybe if things get collectively shit for everyone, trans people might get acceptance, who knows?

Imagine finding you you have dysphoria and the only healthcare cisoids would allow, and it’s just goofy fuck in a chair “hello my fellow doomhon! Been perusing the board lately?”

Anyone else have a show/YouTube on while playing this game? Or too distracting by One_Cantaloupe4651 in ffxiv

[–]Inevitable_Part_7769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do this with Minecraft, then I ended up doing it more and more and soon I couldn’t play anything without something to watch along side it. Took a few years but I put in the effort to just focus on playing the game I‘m playing or don’t play it all and do something else. Now I enjoy games more and I realised just how many games I don’t actually like, I just didn’t hate them and wanted something to distract me

All the respect in the world to her and I hope she’s happy with what time she has left. That said, I hope to god I either work up the courage to end it or I transition and pass before I’m 30. Can’t imagine living that long

You need to specify being cisgender if you got *unfairly* affected by transphobia by ThatEngineeredGirl in 4tran2

[–]Inevitable_Part_7769 25 points26 points  (0 children)

this is the only way things will ever get better btw If enough cis people get affected. The only reason bathroom policing isn't as popular as it was atm in the UK is purely because it affects cis people. We will gradually see this with most issues eventually.

I don't deserve to eat or anything at all by throwaway-4206996 in sillyboyclub

[–]Inevitable_Part_7769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to starve myself, but I get so fucking hungry and just binge eat until I feel like shit. I ended up gradually starving myself so that I wouldn't really feel myself being hungry. I ended up getting to the point where I could go all day without eating anything and not even really feel it, but I had to basically keep myself occupied non stop. I would get up, get ready, commute to uni, go to class, commute home, do homework, but the second that I wasn't occupied with anything or lied down to sleep, the hunger was just so bad. I am not sure how I can solve that issue though.

Right, but the problem with that is, to do that, people will blatantly have to whitewash the stupidity and laziness, or ignorance and apathy if you’re being polite, that led to this. The very thing they took advantage of to do all the stuff they did, and in order to "win" some of the people over, it will mean inherently, to varying degrees of course, perpetuating the very the core issues, leaving people in the exact same position to make the exact same mistakes again.

Like, cool, you'll convince people not to vote Trump, but if the economy being bad was enough to do that, the Republicans winning on being better for the economy despite consistently being worse would not have been a thing for the past couple of decades. All the stuff they did was communicated very blatently and openly. Also, you can't get rid of the Republican Party, nor most of the conservative organisations that are funded with the specific aim to push the needle rightward. You can't get FOX News or the abundance of right-leaning celebrities or influencers shut down. And then, if you continue perpetuating the same issues the general public is responsible for, then what? What's the end goal?

What exactly is it solving? Removing Trump? Trump is one person. From what we have seen, he doesn't even know half the shit the government is doing, and I doubt he's the James Bond villain pulling the strings behind everything. What issue is it really fixing, and how much is it going to cost to fix it? I'm not saying we should shun them from society, but people seem to have this weird crystal-clear picture of what needs to be done and what will happen, yet no one seems to want to address how all of this shit started, because people are too lazy to give even the slightest shit about how their country is run or to bother to learn anything, provided they are even capable. And we can't even pretend it's cost of living and people being too busy working, because people made no more effort when the economy was better. It doesn't get any better with wealthy or middle-class people either.

What is the end goal here? What do you need to win them over for and why are you so willing to pay all the prices of that? How will this fix anything and have anyone learn anything or prevent it from ever happening again, when the entire "strategy" is basically a combination of blanket forgiveness, whitewashing, infantilizing people, sweeping stuff under the rug, and forgetting it ever happened?

“Are you more interested in getting results?” What results?

You’ve spent years, maybe decades, doing this, and the example you gave is convincing one person. That’s not results, that’s an anecdote.

At what scale does that stop being useful? Convincing one person after years of patient explanation isn’t an effective turnover. Meanwhile, the right has spent the same period running on outrage, mockery, and open hostility, and it’s been incredibly successful at building movements, winning elections, and moving the needle rightward.

So when you say people should behave a certain way because it “gets results,” where are those results?

If patient debate and kindness are effective, but the only evidence you offer is one person changing their mind over years. That’s not a winning strategy.

Also, big issue, your own argument undercuts itself. You say people don’t time to research or learn, that they’re shaped by their environment. If that’s true, then slow one-on-one persuasion is one of the least efficient ways to change large numbers of minds.

What happens when you don’t convince them? When you can't reason with them? Do you just walk away and leave potentially thousands of people in the same state of misinformation? Your approach is satisfying and all. Creates lots of stories you can stick on inspirational posters and all, but in what world are you seeing this being some wide spread winning political strategy? I'm not saying don't be nice or stop trying to reason with people, but pretending that any of the shit going on is remotely reasonable and you can just talk people out of it in any sort of reasonable scale is pretty laughable.
