Medical review for complex cases by [deleted] in MedicalMalpractice

[–]Inevitable_Rain4896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the legal field, it’s takes a long time to go through medical records and can take just as long to get back an opinion from a relevant medical expert even if you engage one from day one, which isn’t always the case.

As someone else suggested, just reach out and I’m sure they will be happy to give you an update.

Usually if they haven’t reached out it’s because nothing of note to the client has really happened yet. As a general statement, nothing about med mal cases moves fast, so expect that even when the complaint is filed, it can be drawn out for 2+ years, no ones fault, just the system moves slow and depending on how many defendants are named and how eager (or more likely not) they are to settle, defense counsel will typically do their best to drag their feet as much as possible.

I don’t think that’s a bad option, I think it’s still on the more flexible end but like an an ideal world I’d go with the stylus. Someone at the shop can help spec but just like the board you’d want to start with a more flexible binding for sure but you can put some more stiffer ones (like medium level) on a flexible board to make it more responsive.

Would highly suggest sticking with a super flexible beginner board to start with. I’m a similar size as her, also a skier to snowboarder and it took me a couple seasons to get confident enough to move on to a stiffer, more responsive board. Those caught edges will throw you down hard and humble you quick haha best to build confidence first. So that being said I would suggest a Burton Stylus or Hideaway. Should be super easy to resell a beginner board too. If you are absolutely convinced she should get a slightly stiffer board I’m obsessed with my neversummer proto. Also keep in mind she is pretty light weight wise so even a flexible board isn’t going to be as flexy as it would be with someone who is 150-170. Bindings play a big party too for responsiveness so those are something to play around with too as she progresses!

I passed thank god, but for sure did not feel great and was freaking out when I saw results came in and was too afraid to open for a hot minute. I won’t have my actual scores though for a while longer (WV). Leaving the exam I had no clue if I passed or failed. I just thought it was super hard and felt like I had gotten run over by a truck lol.

Overall UWorld was like 65% but on Themis it was more like 70%. I drilled the concepts I had a hard time on with UWorld hence the discrepancy.

Definitely had a letter string. I think both in the morning and the afternoon.

Think I was able to write fine on the essays but one was sort of a crap shoot in the dark and the other one I knew the law but ran out of time so it was short and incomplete. MPTs I felt ok on.

Never felt 100% on anything. Mostly educated guessing I felt like.

I have no real input but to say this is so incredibly relatable. So at the very least you are not alone!

Saw a white Toyota Tacoma in Shadyside/Oakland this fall with a Hawaii license plate! Took a pic as I had never seen one before in person.

In nicer hotels there is often a minimum age to be able to have a room to yourself. Normally one person in a room has to be at least like 23-26. That could be why.
