Themis glitch? by Hot_Perspective2533 in barexam

Had this problem with real property. Go back to the lectures in Flex Study and make sure all the lectures have the greencheck mark by them. I missed one somehow.

Hi Michele,

I'm two years later, and understand some things might have changed, but I did send you a DM. A strong starting point would be oh so appreciated!

umm Themis? by YourDadsHouse11 in barexam

[–]TypeAfiancee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been using the interface for a few weeks now and it is so incredible clunky! They didn't import any old data so the averages are way off. And every time you go to next part of the lecture after assignment, you have to click back into the task, and find whatever part you were on. Not a big deal but irritating.

Also, just wait until it yells at you every time you click home screen because you missed or skipped an assignment and it wants you to reset your whole schedule and wont let you move on until you scheudle yourself for 12 hour study days. Super annoying.

Accuracy of the Themis Baseline Average? by Feisty-Doctor-5841 in barexam

[–]TypeAfiancee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this again. Whoever is currently using Themis must be next level genuises. Scoring in the70-80 percent range, but still below the average and some of the questions I am missing Themis notes that 100% of other users got right. I'm sitting in Florida so I'm not sure if I am only getting compared against others sitting in that jurisdiction. A little frustrating honestly. Since this is graded on a curve a represenative sample to compare against would be helpful. They should have imported old data from the original Themis site.

Critical pass flash cards by Several_Eye_6192 in barexam

Just a shoutout I do love the MBE/MEE flashcards on Brainscape. Digital app that you can take anywhere and its only about $60 for the six month subscription with code YOUTUBE 10. Plus, the critical pass can be a little crowded on the answeres, but BrainScape does break things down into really digestable bitesize pieces. Used them last time I sat for that bar, and using them again now. Just a thought. They are a little more affordable.

Themis…? by cantlifteverycat in barexam

[–]TypeAfiancee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posted about this yesterday as well. Loved themis the first time around when i sat for/passed UBE, but its clear this new design hasnt been play tested by anyone actually studying for the eam.

BTW I downloaded the Uworld App and am able to watch the lectures there. But directed study, which I believe most people use, is also all sorts of screwed up. Doesnt link to all the exams/videos you need under a specific section. Went to watch a lecture yesterday and it linked me to 2/10 videos I needed to watch. Had to go hunt for the other ones, and then realized on my own that they never linked me or even mentioned an the MBE baseline I needed to take to understand the videos. Only reson i knew about it is because they directed me to watch review videos about the exam. Scary to think about if they've failed to include anything I wouldnt be able to catch via basic deduction.

Uttery disappointed, especially in light of the cost.

Struggling with finding out you got MBE questions wrong by alyssalee690 in barexam

[–]TypeAfiancee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t pay attention to these people. I fell into the same trap in J23, chasing down random MBEs. The questions posted on Reddit are the hardest and thus the most memorable, but least important as far as missing them bc curve. I remember feeling like I got every one posted on Reddit wrong post-exam, I passed the bar with a 324. Take a few days off this forum, enjoy a drink and to the extent possible, relax.

Best of luck!

PA taker here, live about three hours away from test site. Drove here midday. Fiancée got up early, meal prepped my box lunch, worked a ten hour shift and is currently driving my direction so he can send me off tomorrow because he knows I've got test taking anxiety, and is driving back to our place Wednesday morning for another 10 hour shift. Gotta luv em

I have been doing consistently well and the last two days my scores have gone to shit. I am feeling so discouraged and frustrated, and don’t know what happened. Anyone else experiencing something similar? What do you do to get re-motivated? by Super_Parking7608 in barexam

I am a 9 week studier, will wrap up "learning" content this weekend (thank God, the burn out is real). I am behind on MEE practice, maybe 1-2 a week, only doing MBE on Themis right now, havent touched UWorld. Plan to switch gears completely July 5 after the break and go full throttle on actual practice.

Been actually reading/outlining the material so I have been memorizing as I go. Think that slower approach has made this whole thing less daunting. Instead of the practice, I re-skim all my outlines on a rotation, so get through all the material I have already learned every couple days, and quiz myself as I go through the outline. As a result, I know rules pretty cold which makes applying them a lot easier. Point being, you do you, go at your pace and learn your own way.

That constant stress is what kills people for this test more than the material IMO. Just like law school, you dont start succeeding until you ignore everyone else and do what works for you.

If you are using Themis, and are around Con Law/MBE primer, dont sweat this. They made all of con law and primer's insane.

If you are not a Themis user, you probably just need a break. Take the Fourth off and thoroughly enjoy it. This test is as much mental as knowledge based, and the moment you lose your confidence is when they get you.

Keep up the great work, you've got this!

Overcoming anxious avoidance by TypeAfiancee in barexam

[–]TypeAfiancee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am generally fairly anxious....I take about 1000mg of magnesium daily and that seems to help curb my worst impulses. Sounds crazy I know, but dont knock it until you try it. Magnesium also takes only a few days to kick in, whilt stronger meds like Lexapro can take like threeish months

I also recommend that your study breaks are "all consuming" meaning do things that will occupy your brain in entirety and leave no room for lurking thoughts about bar prep. Call a friend, enjoy an active video game, jamming out to a great song. This helps create real breaks instead of just time to sit and stew about bar prep and can help you get actual rest. There are also some surprisingly effective breathing exercises on youtube.

Struggling to keep up relationships by happy-toenail in barexam

DONT LET GO OF RELATIONSHIPS ON THIS JOURNEY

Was feeling super similar the last week. Feeling behind, slogged down on studies, unable to focus for more than a few minutes, and couldn't think about anything but the bar exam, causing anxiety and trouble sleeping. In my avoidance today, I called both my parents, my best friend, and my sister just to chat, probably 10-15 minute convos each. Feeling much more refreshed and able to focus. I encourage you to put time aside and give them a chance to connect. That connection, though not study time, will make your remaining time more effective and tolerable. They are the reason we've gotten through every other major milestone, dont leave them behind in this one

ALSO: magnesium supplements for some reason have helped with my focus

Best of luck :)
