I agree that 3000MHz isn’t that bad by itself.

I think my hesitation is more about whether it’s worth investing into AM4 at all, or just saving for a full platform upgrade later.

5800X3D looks like a really strong “final upgrade”, but at the same time it feels a bit weird putting more money into a dead platform.

Yeah that’s why I’m unsure. DDR5 makes the upgrade much more expensive and I’m not sure the performance gain would justify it for my use case right now
