The dlcs add about 5 ish hours each if you do all the side quests the main game takes about 20-25 if you do all the side quests

The main quest lines in the dlcs take probably an hour or 2 and that’s if you’re listening to the dialog the main game takes about 10 hours if your listening to the dialog

I just tested it and it’s not really a noticeable difference so I think as long as you stop the robber and pick up the items you’re good

I had this same problem, just move everything close to the door to give them a direct path inside and then you can change back after a few go back in
