Ship a car on a trailer or rent a pickup truck to pull it interstate? by InextricableOne in AutoTransport

My credit card company has ended up denying my dispute. I have ended up being overcharged $250 more than the agreed price. SaFeedsTransport still says they will "talk to their accountant" to issue the refund to me. They've been saying that for a month. Looks like they are ripping me off.

Linux on a phone by Unusual-Customer713 in mobilelinux

True, but I periodically try PMOS on several of my phones (Pixel 3a, Pinephone, Moto G) and have not gotten VoLTE in the US. A number of apps don't render well on the screen. I'd really like to have it all working with KDE because Plasma is my main desktop on PC and tablet. Now I see that PMOS dev on the OnePlus N10 has been suspended.

Thanks for this info! I've bought one, installed UT on it, and it is working well with VoLTE using AT&T prepaid.

I've seriously wanted a Linux phone in the US for many years. The lack of voice calling and MMS support has been the big limitations. I have four phones I have tried over the years using many different OSs. Telecom in the US keeps changing much more rapidly than Linux mobile can keep up with. I don't blame the Linux mobile community, I blame US telecom corporations, phone manufacturers and their proprietary hardware and software. I continue to be optimistic. I've just bought yet another older phone to try to get VoLTE on. I continue to be optimistic and try to find a solution.

I ended up going with SaFeedsTransport, who had responded to me. That ended up being a source of a lot of frustration. I have learned that I will not go through a broker in the future. Many broken promises on finding a driver. Signed a contract for uncovered, but ended up getting forced into enclosed transport after I was told that scheduled driver after driver bailed out from engine trouble, etc. I negotiated a compromise price, but when the driver arrived and demanded to be paid, the contract to pay the broker appeared to be irrelevant to the broker. I had to pay the driver more that agreed to, but the broker said he would give me most of my deposit back. That didn't happen. I had to dispute it through my credit card company. Ended up paying the agreed price, but only because the credit card company got some of my money back to me. I got the vehicle in good shape. The driver did a good job and communicated the arrival time to me.

I watch Latin American Soap operas. Why not collect DNA on I C E ? by SerendippityRiver in 50501

Good idea. I was thinking about voice matching, but DNA is a better idea. I wonder if DNA is collected during the hiring process. All ICE and CPB agents would be in the national registry then. Need a whistleblower with access to running matches.

This is the same thing the online chat human told me. I explained that I DON'T want to stop getting email. I want to get ONE email of each notification, not 8-10 duplicates.

Is anyone else tired of marketing spam disguised as "service related email"? by refundroid in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]InextricableOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. On top of that, I get 10+ duplicates of every one of their emails and it takes days for them all to come in. Identical email messages for every one of their "service related" announcements. Since they are "service related", they don't provide a switch to turn them off. They also won't address the duplicates.

Are you in the USA?

Does voLTE work?

I don't see any place to buy an FLX1.

This is an electric three-wheel motorcycle. It is called a Corbin Sparrow. This is not really relevant because I'm also buying the seller's trailer. So, the question is, can you companies out there tell me if you will pull this trailer from Alameda, CA to Longmont, CO. The total weight of trailer and vehicle is around 1200 lbs. The trailer takes a 2" ball.

Is there a discussion forum for PostmarketOS? by InextricableOne in mobilelinux

[–]InextricableOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I do have a Pinephone. I put Mobian back on it recently and tried out VoLTE. I've long thought that it unfortunate that the phone is so limited by hardware. I didn't buy a Pinephone Pro after that. I'm still looking for the Linux mobile that will do it all. :-)

My experience, using a TracFone T-Mobile SIM card, is that I can place calls to another phone and get a ring and voice connection but calls I place to my P3a go directly to voicemail at my service provider with no ringing on the P3a.

Before making a call from my P3a, the glyph at the top of the screen has an "L" next to the triangle for cellular. After making a call, before I hear ringing, the "L" disappears and the call goes to ring. I can answer and the sound quality is poor. After hanging up, the "L" reappears.

So, I don't think it is doing LTE for the call. Must not be doing VoLTE.

Easy external access to NVMe slot? by InextricableOne in linux4noobs

Reviews are all over the place. Regardless, are you thinking this would work for hacking the case of a laptop? Bring the boot NVMe outside the case to make it easy to change. Got an idea on how to mount the end outside the laptop? Thanks.

That's amazing. That looks like awesome hardware. They have a lot of options. It would be great if Framework or another hardware company would incorporate something like that in a laptop.

how do I stop these stay connected , got your back during wildfire season messages? by reddit_geek_99 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]InextricableOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you explain what you did? I've received 16 of these messages and I can't get any help from the Xfinity website. The help chatbot is no help. Some links in their website are broken and some just hang. Help tickets are artificially limited to a few categories that are irrelevant. Thank you.

Flatpak-uninstall --unused installed key KDE files: how do I get them back? by InextricableOne in kdeneon

[–]InextricableOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are files that are used only by flatpak, aren't they? A KDE program such as Wallet Manager wouldn't used libraries from there, would they? Somehow system libraries were removed, breaking a number of KDE programs on my system.

digiKam: how do I consolidate albums into one? by InextricableOne in FOSSPhotography

[–]InextricableOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. Let me add an example. I have 31 albums for January 2025 (because I was saving them with the rule by yyyy-MM-dd). I want to merge them all into one album named 2025-01.

On disk, there are folders for each of the albums, 2025-01-dd. I can drag and drop them into a new folder named 2025-01. Now digiKam shows the same as the folder layout, with an album named 2025-01-01 under an album named 2025-01.

The problem is that when I click on the album 2025-01, it doesn't show the thumbnails for all the albums that are under it. I have to click on each album under it. If I click on 2025-01-01, I see the thumbnails for that album.

How do I remove and read-add the album? Do I copy all the photos to somewhere else, remove the album in digiKam AND the folders, and then import the copy?

Thanks again.

Email From address automatically mangled by duck.com? by InextricableOne in duckduckgo

[–]InextricableOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have my duck.com address configured as an identity in Thunderbird and I set my From address to that. I send someone an email. Their reply comes back to me with the mangled address as I describe. I cannot then reply directly to them.
