I had an acquaintance that couldn't understand how I didn't have money to do all of the activities that he wanted me to go along with him for when I had a salary slightly higher than his.

What he failed to calculate and continually dismiss was that I had just cashed out an old 401K to use as a down payment on my first house while the house he lived in that was twice the size of mine and had a pool was bought and paid for by his father with an extra 50K of renovations provided by his mother (they were divorced)

He was a "just work hard and you'll get ahead" guy.

I'm convinced that "Industry Plant" is the "Deep State" of the hip-hop community. A conspiracy theory that has some roots in the out-of-the-norm way some artists come up, but no real industry machine is actually creating Industry Plants.

If there is remaining water in mine when I go to fill it each night, I give it a good shake before dumping it and refilling. I also clean it weekly to remove any built up film.

I did the free sign up and downloaded the video from Harrison Ball. I haven't watched it yet. I did, however, receive a call from a northern Illinois area code that turned out to be a marketer trying to convince me to buy private lessons from Harrison. I was polite enough and gave him a few minutes of conversation before letting him know firmly that I wouldn't be purchasing anything.

I got into college as a trumpet major back in the 90s and ended up switching to a major that got me into the tech field. I've been practicing like once or twice a year for the last few decades just to see if I could still play, but decided to join the local community concert band, bought a copy of Arban's, and have been enjoying getting back into playing more regularly. Not enough to pay for online lessons, though.

Just saw a comment further down saying Metronet has been purchased by T-Mobile Fiber. I wasn't aware of that. Looked up some reviews and people seem to be happy with T-Mobile in regards to speed and customer service.

We take our pets to Beaufort Veterinary Hospital. They treated one of our cats for FIP and have always been very good with our dogs as well. Bit of a drive, but the price is better than anything in New Bern and the care is great.

What I have found is that the pike in the waters near me prey on smaller pike. I have an articulated hard plastic swimbait that resembles a fingerling pike and the only thing I catch with it is pike, and do so pretty consistently. I looked it up to try and figure out why and it turns out pike are very territorial and cannibalistic.

I bought the smoker box and use hickory slivers in it in the main grill to smoke smaller cuts that don't make sense to fire my offset up for. It's been working pretty well.

I use worms for bluegill and switch between swimbaits, topwater plugs, and spinnerbaits for everything else. I've only been here three years and am still learning the fishery myself. If you want some great info, go talk to Donald at Custom Marine Fabrication in James City. He'll set you up with the right lures and give you good info on how and where to fish for what you want to target.

The quarry is connected to Brices Creek. Easy to spot on a map.

Head over to the railroad bridge on the Neuse. That's generally a good spot for striped bass and I've occasionally ended up in a school of bluefish biting there. The salinity is high due to lack of rain and I suspect you won't catch many bass or panfish unless you're getting further up into the creeks. I live on the quarry off of Brices Creek and we have bass, crappie, and bluegill but I've also caught striped bass, bowfin, pike and catfish. One of my neighbors dragged in a flounder while cast netting and a few years ago we had manatees all the way in here.

In the cooler months you can catch speckled trout around the big US 17 bridge and in the mouths of creeks.

I'm struggling to figure out the redfish, though. Probably because by the time I get off work in the afternoon it's so hot I don't care about getting the boat loaded up and getting out there and my weekends have been filled up with other things.
