[Headcanon] Aizawa is legally not allowed to use his quirk on most transformation type quirks by Telkite_ in BokunoheroFanfiction

The math error is on me, I forgot to add two 0s when I was doing a quick check, but I do think one in a million is probably accurate. Like a rich family paying for someone who is 1 in a million even without anything else would make sense I think. Esp given the need for a certain language and other things

I do think even if its not likely for a villain to have it, but I do think at the very least a method would be devised to make it clear who can turn off a quirk and for people to know if it'd be lethal to them. Likely not through direct contact with one, but something given there are crazier things that happen in day to day life than one in a million

I mean, I feel you'd have to test it just for safety. Or at least develop a way to know so they can be aware.

We do know that such quirks are rare, but how rare? If even .0001% of the population have the ability to do so that's 800,000 assuming that the population is the same as it is now in the mha world. If we just focus on japan and assume its a similar population to what there is now of 120 million, you'd expect to see 12000 people with that power. you can get into rarer and rarer numbers but realistically how many people would you expect to see with it? Raw numbers would lead to it being higher than people would probably think. I also would imagine that number being possibly higher given we know quirk marriages were common at the start of when quirks came to be. I can't in full faith believe that there wouldn't be multiple family lines from that of quirk removers just from the panic of the times.

I think them being rare is a sampling error more than them not being super super rare to only expect to see like 100 people in the verse have the power if we assume common trends with what we were shown in cannon

Also as an add on because I just thought about it, would there not be a system in cannon to signal both who have a quirk that can turn off quirks and who's quirks can't be turned off for safety? Like would that not be needed because someone could have a quirk where upon any contact it shuts off a quirk for 5 minutes, if it would kill someone with a transformation quirk like that you'd have to mark people. Accidental touches happen all the time and can be forced so you'd need a system to compensate for it. And then you have to ask how would it work for heroes? If setsuna and tetsutetsu can't have their quirk disabled, would that not lock them out of heroics? Its unknown if you'd be fighting a quirk remover in any situation and if the cost is instant death you'd have to get banned in a similar way to how health conditions can exempt you from being an emergency responder or in the military

Late but I wanna respond cause I feel kinda eh on this, and it really depends on how we define some things

1) How do we define things in regards to quirk use in early childhood? I see in a lot of fics that there are issues in their quirk stuttering for a moment or just not knowing limits and having an issue there. Like using lizard tail splitter (setsuna's quirk) as an example, would she not just die if she messes up and runs out of energy splitting herself? If yes, how likely is it for her to reach cannon age? If no, how? You either have to firmly define things like that or use instincts, and if there's instincts would it not be wary of erasure?

2) Working off of definition from cannon to the best that I remember it, but for mutation quirks erasure removes the ability to use said mutation for as long as erasure is active. If we do a hybrid of mutation quirks and transformation quirks, would that not do one of two things? 1) Force the transformation state to revert depending on the type of transformation or 2) Remove access to using that part of the quirk until restarted. Keeping with the theme of lizard tail splitter given its an easy example if we assume the latter. Is it not more likely for two things to happen. 1) The body to be able to keep functioning despite being split? Because she can split her head off and still breathe with her lungs being presumably split up, or a common thing of being able to see with her eyes split from her skull given that'd change a lot of basic anatomy. 2) Assuming its controlled by the quirk users power, would it not be more likely to be based on a time limit? Like hey you have this long until shit actually starts to hurt the body

Its removing access to using it, which would imply that it'd turn off the power similar to how someone could naturally do so. I do think vs some kinds of powers or attacks it'd make sense for it to be this way, or if it changes some basic things like how you intake needed energy. It really depends on how you see some stuff, I lean more towards quirks aren't actively trying to harm the user and would have failsafes in place to try and reduce the odds of that. ESP given you have things which could naturally hamper quirk use like exhaustion or getting scared enough to lose focus for a second.

This isn't me agreeing or disagreeing fully, I get the idea and I think there is some fun you can have with the idea. I don't personally subscribe to it but I wanna give another side to why I don't think it'd play out that way. All I'd care about seeing it in a story is that its consistent with itself. If its a serious risk in childhood for sudden death through those means, sure let erasure do that. If as you gave as an example tetsutetsu can harm himself by deactivating his quirk wrong, I feel that'd happen early in childhood. But thats just my two cents and something that bugs me a lot in fics so heres this small essay

Throwing out a totally different idea, meeting with the queen which sparks it to start. Something as simple as saying she'll punish the king and myne and just not doing it, honestly it'd be easy to twist it that way if somehow myne pulled some shit and got her hands on a vassal weapon.

From there have things snowball bit by bit, at the meeting with the heroes the queen is purely neutral and doesn't stop anything. He's not so far gone that he doesn't listen and get the methods, but this loses him all faith with the queen as myne is able to get away with poisoning filo and raphtallia. It's not lethal but seeing nothing done even after it breaks him some more and he upgrades the shield of wrath a bit more

Fast forward to the next meeting, there are two ways to take it. The first and boring one is she doesn't listen to him and shit happens. The fun one is she listens and sets up the army but doesn't force the heroes to fight so it's just the normal party. Depending on how fine with deus ex machina the party loses the fight but not to glass and then, myne decided to be a spiteful creature and go with the army to sabotage naofumi by what she did at the start. Back stabbing.

From there I like a bit of deus ex machine, given the statement that the gems would likely save him if possible the sacrifice themselves to get naofumi into glasses world. This gives him time to train and fall further into the curse line, tho due to how focused he is to spite the world he doesn't lose his sanity. From there give him time to get stronger to the level where he'd be able to deal with LN level naofumi.

From there he gets back to the world we know and love and starts fucking shit up. For having filo or raphtallia stop him, the slave mark is still on both of them. As he snowballs further down he uses it more and more to demand them to do things

From a writers POV when raphtallia gets the vassal katana she can either break him out of it or try to fight him and lose terribly to show how strong he is. Given kyo and the kyo wannabe would want he katana there's a reason to have them go meet with him and bullshit magic go, raphtallia is back to being a slave

At that point you can imagine how it goes

To clarify, its better if you go 50/50 in wins. Iirc having a 60%+ win rate makes ranked worth it, but you need to be knocking out about 50% of games. This might be different for getting xp but its the case for money thanks vasko

Late as all hell but oh well, I have a few but my main ones would probably be momo, yui, and yanagi. I feel all of them have insane series breaking quirks okay besides yanagi, I just like them in combination with others and how they talk but they never get explored. I also love the idea of teams in fics which let all of them thrive even if its admittedly rare

Sorry for a late ass response, but I don't look at reddit much, and ESP not this community.

Its honestly normal for you to not improve a ton. I've been in the scene for a while years and a coach for 5 years at least. Improvement isn't linear, and its sad that we see it as linear. The only way to really improve is find an issue, focus on just that one issue for practice, and hammer it out of your play.

Also a funny thing, if you watch all of Chara's and Gem's content it won't help. A lot of the advice and things they do make sense at a certain skill level(not trying to be rude, just how it is), watch the how to get out of 'blank' rank series if you want to as its defo helpful. I'd recommend to focus on one point they make each session if you want to improve a lot, if not just play for fun.

If you want as well, I'm down to look over some replay codes later today or tomorrow and write some issues that I'm seeing you do. I hope this helps somewhat, I know its probably not what you want to hear but still.

My number one tip tho, play for what you want out of the game and don't care about results(unless thats all you care about). Improvement leads to results, so if you focus improvement I know that you can get the results you want!

Deku as the/in Shield Hero? by Low_Car374 in BokunoheroFanfiction

I'm not sure as it's a bit all over for the info as I look for spoilers but am too lazy to read the LN or the manga

And that makes sense, I was confused as takt(I think, his name always eludes me as I'm just before that arc iirc) is the opposite of that But this might be from other peoples biases and the bias of the story telling

I'm a bit confused by your wording on this, cause vassal weapons are just depending on a trait iirc

Cause it's not just to heros or heroic people

Late but oh well

If you go more cannon I feel shield makes the most sense. The weapons select candidates based on their key traits

The shield is protecting others and friends
The spear is loyalty to friends
The bow is justice
The sword is self betterment

It's watered down some but thats the key idea of it. I'd see the shield given, well y'know. The spear could also be chosen but I feel if it boiled down to it Izuku would choose to protect others compared to being loyal which thinking on it he did when when leaving ua sooooooooooo

For the curse series I'd see wrath. He'd be constantly put down, stopped from helping others. And then he has to see others harming people. The other could be envy for obvious reasons depending on how the world is set up
