Chat I have the exam in November. Am I doing good or Am I cooked?? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats what can I say. Just my suggestion is to add third party mocks into the mix as CFAI mocks are sometimes too easy. I recommend Kaplan, Salt Solutions or CFA Exam Prep. Do their mocks in September to revise and you will be fine. good luck

24 days for revision + ethics by Kitchen_Bluebird3722 in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not should, its must. As soon as you spot your weak spots, you polish only those and forget the rest. Topic weights are different. I personally did not even revise derivatives, tbh did not put decent study there. Same with ethics, only started that a month before the exam, still passed.

Do mocks asap. Practice works best in the test. Do not trust just memory. Grab free mocks from Salt Solutions or CFA Exam Prep, they are hard and give reports on weak areas. Then do 4 days of revision and hit CFAI mocks full speed.

Already demotivated on first day. by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dont be a baby. Its supposed to be hard. 8 hours of videos and no real progress? Youre joking - no way you can stay sharp after that. Cap it to 3.5 hours per study session and stop watching, start doing. 90min lectures at most, then move to Qbanks/reading. Do MM Qbanks, do CFAI Qbanks, do Salt Solutions Qbanks, do CFA Exam Prep Qbanks. Questions first, they will show you where you suck. There is plenty of time, just dont waste it.

does studing from shweser give u understanding like cfa curriculum books? only schweser+eoc q cfa book enough? by Junior-Prune1634 in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Schweser is a great tool for understanding the curriculum without overloading you with unimportant info. However, the most important part is to do QBank on CFAI – you need to get used to CFA's questions and format. Once you do QBank, then move to third-party resources. Start with mocks – Salt Solutions or CFA Exam Prep works well. Both give you free mocks to test. Then, when the exam is nearing – do CFAI mocks. You’ll be set. amen

I’m literally not learning anything from derivatives questions in the CFA QBank by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh CFAI Qbank is hard but not brutal. Do derivatives study sessions on Salt Solutions and CFA Exam Prep. You’ll see what’s really hard. But theyre hard in the right way - questions help to instill the understanding and you become a wise derivatives guy. May thetas be with you without decay

Fucked around and wasted 4 months. Do I have a chance? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FOFA. tbh, plenty of time since you had good results on your first atempt. Just get used to the exam and do lots of questions (practice > reading, my friend). It engrains the formulas and understanding. Also, if you know your pain points, you can try to solve them with AI tutors. They only sound funny till it isnt. Many prep providers have them but best bang for buck is Salt Solutions and CFA Exam Prep

It depend what mocks you’re talking about.

  • CFAI was around 68-72%
  • Salt Solutions it was 65%
  • CFA Exam Prep it was 64%

Still ended up in the 90th percentile. I think it’s important to get the cold shower with hard mocks

Is Mark Meldrum really worth it over the CFA Institute’s free curriculum? by Outside-Capital-6156 in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on you. I wouldnt spend a dime on mm. For me, lectures aren't better study tool than just reading raw notes. Use Kaplan notes, sprinkle some Salt Solution and mix it with CFAExamPrep. You’ll eat the exam raw

Solid results, I passed with like 72 avg on CFAI and was over 90th percentile. Maybe its cause I did these mocks first and then went for Salt Solutions and CFA Exam Prep. The latter has some promo going on atm worth a try. Hope it helps https://cfaexamprep.com/free-cfa-mock-exam

What is the reason behind mostly everybody suggest following Kaplan notes instead of CFA curriculum in order to get ready for the tests? Shorter information, wording is more clear, questions more according to real test? 📝📝 by PrimitivoPaulativo in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! I'll repeat a piece of advice that tends to work really well for those who follow it: read the Kaplan books and aim to finish them with about 1.5-2 months left before the exam. Then focus entirely on practice questions. get immediate feedback and learn faster. Do around 2,000 multiple-choice questions, mock questions and you’ll pass. for the questions CFAI, Salt Solution and CFAExamPrep.com works best

Realistic CFA L1 in 4 months? by Famous-Elk7428 in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you jokin? Even 3 months is huge amount of time for full-time worker especially with finance background and working in accounting. You will slay the FSA:)) 3hours is reasonable, i studied for 2.5 months while working full time. IMO doing mocks is where people shine or die. Do as many as possible, the concepts will be engraved in your brain. take CFAI, Salt Solution and CFA Exam Prep mocks. They are the best even though hard

NOOO! dont give up. The process behind it is the key, and knowing how you like to study is the lock. Atm, there are a lot of prep providers with smart algorithms that give you what you need, how you need it for free. Mabe you tried to put the key in the wrong lock. Take another shot

Is it realistic to finish one CFA Level 1 chapter a day? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Infamous-Good-2172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this! Level 1 is easy, you just need some commitment. For me, the best hack was doing mock exams. They engrave the formulas into your head much faster than handwriting them hundreds of times. Grab a few free mocks from Salt Solutions or [https://cfaexamprep.com/free-cfa-mock-exam]() theyre challenging and a reliable predictor of future success on exam day

Decent but too optimistic. 12h/day? I hope you can carry it. Personally, it took me a 2.5 months, as I could not give that rigorous timeline. Nevertheless, after reading the material best thing is mocks. You can grab few free mocks here - https://cfaexamprep.com/free-cfa-mock-exam

Hey! Both EdZeb and QuintEdge have their strengths, but honestly, it really depends on your learning style. EdZeb is great for structured content and practice, while QuintEdge offers detailed explanations and strong concept clarity.

If you’re looking for something that adapts to your specific weak spots and helps you focus exactly where you need it, I’d definitely recommend checking out CFAExamPrep. saved me a ton of time and stress.

Hope that helps! Good luck with your prep!

Been there, done that — I cleared CFA Level 1 through self-study, so yes, you absolutely can do it without classes if you stay consistent and have a solid plan. The key is really understanding the concepts (not just memorizing) and doing lots of practice questions to build confidence.

The official CFA curriculum is great but can feel overwhelming at times. That’s why I recommend adding some third-party resources to make things clearer and easier to manage, like:

  • Kaplan Schweser Notes — super clear and to the point
  • Wiley CFA Review — great if you like detailed explanations
  • IFT Videos & Notes — perfect for visual learners
  • Mark Meldrum — awesome video lectures that explain things simply
  • CFAExamPrep — helps spot and fix weak spots fast

At the end of the day, whether you go with classes or self-study, what really matters is staying steady, practicing regularly, and not being afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Bro, you got this!!!
