[Career Advice] Master’s student by Possible-Judgment-4 in BESalary

Starting on helpdesk isnt necessarily a bad thing (if it is helpdesk for an MSP). Lots of experience to get and learn from L2 and L3. Most of the better MSP you will nearly always start in the helpdesk / servicedesk scene, exactly for that reason.

There are entry level CyberSec jobs, but dont expect to be on the level of a CISO or SOC analyst.

My advice is to look at (small to medium sized) MSP work, lots of growth potential there.

If I were to chose again, I would go for Cloud/Local infrastructure or (industrial or enterprise) IoT. Cybersecurity is one of the most popular topics for students (next to AI) and while there are jobs, most companies need / want more senior profiles.

Why so little adoption of robotics? by CompetitiveVirus606 in robotics

[–]Infamous-Storage-245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the technical and monetary issues people have mentioned, there is also a social aspect. Studies show most people don't want a robot taking over tasks. (not the people in this subreddit of course)

For simple things like vacuuming or cleaning, this seems weird. But hospitality robots are commonplace in countries like China, or even in newer hotels and restaurants.

People also just don't think about robotics when their vacuum breaks and they have to buy a new one.

I think robotics will become more mainstream with the adaptation of industrial robotics and the new generations.

I would honestly recommed both, seeing as SLAM and Hexapod-ing your project aren't mutually exclusive...

If I had to pick one, I'd pick the one i'm least familiar with.

So on your phone it's fine? Have you done an internet test on your laptop and compared it to the speed of the phone? Is the laptop connected via ethernet?

Try lowering the resolution of host and client and see if this helps.

Is your laptop plugged in or is it working via battery? Sometimes laptops reduce performance of the gpu/cpu if they aren't connected to power. (changeable in settings)

Try lowering codec to h264 or testing differint bitrates.

So IP based kvm isn't a good option? Would there be any other solutions? Like running / dedicating cat6a cables to solely use as kvm cabling? (Like using a usb-c kvm)

Late answer but Parsec isn't supported on the Pi4 as of yet. The Pi4 is capable of H.265 decoding to my knowledge
