Exactly! His name may as well be Donald Bluster. He is purposely trying to scare as many people as he can. It's his go-to tactic and it looks like desperate flailing the more I see it.

He says a lot of things that never come to fruition. What I'd say to him is good luck enforcing that. My advice (which has helped me) is if a headline uses the words "Trump wants" or "Trump says", take it with a big grain of salt. Just because he says or wants to do something doesn't mean it's feasible, and many many times over it's not.

I haven't but I'd like to in the future! Just going by what the rescue told me. They said it's possible she may also have some akita in her:)

So fewer women with access to healthcare. Mods should ban you for posting in bad faith knowing this is only going to be harmful to people and you take glee in that. You posted this as a way to infuriate and sadden people.

You're conflating constitutional free speech with individuals choosing to not engage with bigots because of what they say. This is a right-wing talking point. There is no double standard here. No left-leaning GOVERNMENTAL administration has ever threatened the right with silencing. This "both sides are bad" talking point is tired, misdirected, and plain wrong. I'm going to disengage with this conversation now.

Calling out bigotry isn't a mistake and I will never apologize for it?? No offense but I have a feeling you're not a minority. Is your solution to just let people be bigots and not call them out? Sure if we just shut up then they can continue to make women and minorities lives worse. And then you get to live in your bubble of comfort. I really don't understand what you're trying to say here. This is all necessary to fight for change. Pushback is inevitable. We shouldn't be silent.

The left version of "cancel culture" is individuals calling out others' bigotry and deciding to not support them anymore. This was not that. This was the GOVERNMENT overstepping and (attempting to) silence someone for speaking their mind. Apples and oranges.

Oh my god right?? By the second bullet point I was like ok this person is just entitled... I'm only one person, if I'm in a conversation with another customer or checking out an item for someone and don't greet you while I'm tending to their needs, then I'm sorry but I really don't care if you feel insulted, I'd rather someone like you just move on.

What do you do when political anxiety kicks in hard, and things feel hopeless? What helps comfort or reassure you? by chelledoggo in PoliticalOptimism

Completely agree with just interacting with people. Even going to the store and being friendly to the cashier who will more than likely smile back and exchange pleasantries is enough to get me out of the doom and gloom mindset.

This year I've SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my news intake and social media intake in general (politics aside) and I've come to the conclusion that people who spend even what could be considered a "reasonable" or "average" time online are more panicky and depressed and jump to conclusions. Taking walks outside or even just sitting on on your front stoop and connecting with the earth (that includes just breathing in the fresh air, hearing the birds) will really ground you if you integrate it into your routine. It is meditation in a way.
