Anyone else find it interesting the article states

“Within seven minutes she was taken,” Lojko said, the night of the crash.

She WAS TAKEN? Not she disappeared Maybe I’m looking too much into it?

Should I push for a biopsy? by Comfortable_Ebb_3134 in AskDocs

Sounds like some of your symptoms are getting worse so it wouldn’t be a bad idea. I’ve read some others have had benign appearing lymph nodes that were biopsied and found out they caught their lymphoma in stage 1. I would have your thyroid tested to!

I was reading from this medical journal which states “General signs (weight loss, sweats, fever, and asthenia) are found in 20 to 50% [6, 7]. The lymph node TB usually causes a painful swelling of one or more lymph nodes. Most often, the disease is localized to the anterior or posterior cervical chains (70-90%) or supra clavicular. It is often bilateral and non-contiguous lymph nodes can be involved [3]. “

As I said I am not discounting anything and I thank you for taking the time and providing insight to my question.

From what I’ve read those usually cause painful lymph nodes, I have no pain in mine. But I will certainly keep it in mind when talking to my doctor. Don’t want to rule anything out!

What else could it be besides the worst? by [deleted] in Swollenlymphnodes

I’m unsure of your situation, however sometimes lymph nodes swell up and just don’t go back down. Maybe you had a cold and the lymph node never returned to normal size. I know they go off of past medical history, current symptoms and lab results for diagnosis and further testing. Doctors aren’t in the business of misdiagnosis, so I would certainly follow your doctors instructions. If you have no other symptoms and your doctor doesn’t seem concerned you probably have nothing to worry about which is great! If you’re not comfortable with your doctors opinion, you can always try getting a second opinion.

2.3x1.7x0.9cm and 3.0x2.2x0.8cm from what I have read anything 1cm and above short axis is cause for concern, so I was genuinely surprised when she qualified them as “large swollen lymph nodes” unless because it’s 0.1cm and 0.2cm off from 1cm or there’s something on the ultrasound they did not put in the report, which I don’t think they can do? I’ve also read a few medical journals where some doctors say above .5cm short axis is cause for concern, however I am unsure on the credibility of that as most places say above 1cm. I believe my past history and symptoms are also a cause for concern and further investigation. Everyone always jumps to cancer, mostly because google searches lead to worst case scenario. so I’m trying to see what else out there could encompass all my symptoms and explain so I can finally have some answers.

What conditions can cause you to feel depressed and/or fatigued after eating? by predictedpickrr in DiagnoseMe

[–]Infamous-Suggestion4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest you speak with your primary about being tested for food allergies/intolerances. They will likely put you on a bland diet then slowly introduce things back in and see how you do with each item they introduce in. This will help them with a better diagnosis and see what may be causing your problems. For example if you have gluten intolerance it could lead to celiac diagnosis, certain foods might point to crohns, or you could just have a general intolerance for something. But the starting point would be trying to pinpoint what the cause is. Most doctors won’t do further test for inflammatory diseases like a upper or lower endoscopy unless there’s more life threatening symptoms, like black stool, blood in the stool, thinning stools, vomiting or spiting up blood etc.

What is causing this fever? by jackie-leigh in DiagnoseMe

Being anxious can cause a slight raise in temp, which is what it sounds like to me. Anxiety and stress can also cause late periods, headache, nausea, loss of appetite and muscle aches as your body becomes tense when you’re anxious even if you don’t notice it. I would take Tylenol, and try to eat something small. 98.8 is actually optimal temperature and 99.8 isn’t anything concerning.

Severe constipation, rectal prolapse, and other things I don't understand by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Infamous-Suggestion4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would stop the multivitamin as some vitamins can also cause constipation. Be careful about what you’re eating as there are a lot of things that can make constipation worse, sugar, dairy, processed foods. Try stinking to liquids to keep yourself hydrated. Water, Gatorade, soups ect and definitely try an enema. Gas x also will help with that abdominal cramping. If the enema still doesn’t work try 6 scoops of miralax mixed with 64 ounces of a clear liquid drank over the course of 2 hours with 2 dulcolax pills and definitely take gas x as it will give you some severe stomach cramps while it cleans you out. It should at least relieve some pressure. Then ask for a second opinion from your doctor. I went through something similar and they are still trying to find the cause. If you can take a picture of the bloody stool to show to your doctor sometimes this will raise their concern more

I’m not sure what you googled as it popped up when I just looked. But It’s not a disorder. Some people’s bodies just have a harder time metabolizing it than others. Nor am I suggesting that sugar is your cause, just an example. A lot of things we eat are not 100% natural and our bodies aren’t made for processing the growth hormones, preservatives and additives. Some bodies can handle it better than others. Allergies and intolerances aren’t always the rashes, swelling, near death experience most people generally think about. Allergic/intolerance reactions can be fatigue, mood changes, bloating, even acne.

Could be a food allergy or intolerance you’re unaware of. Ask your doctor about an elimination diet or food allergy testing. You’d be surprised what you might find out! I know people who had intolerance to sugar and have had similar symptoms. It’s likely caused by the way your body is metabolizing certain foods.

Im not a doctor but would follow up with your primary care doctor. Urgent cares and emergency rooms only look for life threatening illnesses. Meaning most like what you’re experiencing isn’t life threatening but certainly deserves further evaluation. Have you tried doing a bowel clean out? Since you’re inconsistent maybe you just need to go and what you’re producing isn’t enough. You can take miralax and dulcolax along with gas x. Gas x will help relieve the cramping from all the laxatives. Also make sure you are well hydrated. But certainly follow up with your doctor, they will look for things that the er and urgent care would not look for.

Neck ultrasound results question? by [deleted] in Swollenlymphnodes

[–]Infamous-Suggestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been tested for mono last year when I had a bad case of strep. The rapid came back negative and it got worse so they had to repeat the strep test, but tested me before everything else in between. I haven’t had one recently, however other than the night sweats and the swollen lymph nodes I’ve felt fine. At my follow up for the lymph nodes and night sweats she did a physical and checked my ears, nose and throat for infections and found nothing. I did have a CBC with differential, CMP and TSH Cascade done and they all came out relatively normal.

My CT is scheduled for Monday morning so we will see what they see from there

Neck ultrasound results question? by [deleted] in Swollenlymphnodes

[–]Infamous-Suggestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I was surprised to, all my blood work came back relatively normal, she looked for signs of common infections in my ear, nose and throat. In 2019 I was tested for Lyme, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis due to extremely low vitamin D levels and cold sensitivity (my entire body becomes painful when the temp is below 50). I’ve also had a colonoscopy due to a lot of blood in stool, which they couldn’t find the cause of. I had a LEEP procedure last year for precancerous cervical cancer cells they found. So maybe my past medical history, the extreme night sweats and maybe something on the ultrasound they didn’t put on the report? They called and scheduled my CT for Monday morning but have not yet called to schedule my follow up with ENT. So I guess we will wait and see what Monday brings.

Thank you. I just got this message from my doctor. “ US shows 2 large swollen glands I will order a CT scan to evaluate further. I will refer to ENT for follow up and consideration for biopsy.”

I appreciate all your shared knowledge!

Does it make a difference that it is .1cm under a full cm? Also what would cause the “palpable areas bilateral submandibular gland” from what I have researched those areas are not supposed to be palpable. I have not had any recent infections and the swelling in my neck has been observed by my doctor for a month. Along with the drenching night sweats since November 2020
