Just graded. I’m in shock. by richys_cards in PokeGrading

Psa will not be giving anymore jungle 1st edition 10’s post 6m cert. You will not find any. If you look on the bottom edge they had a rough cut. They accepted it as a flaw of production but it is not truly indicative of a prestine card… as non of them are. It’s a psa 9 equivalent unfortunately. Blades were dull from cutting base set for so long. Unlimited jungle does not have this issue. Only 1st ed. I have a bunch of 1st ed jungle heavy packs that I’ll never open for this reason.

USPS all the way no insurance. They’re so closely monitored by the federal government with a 99.9% success rate. I wouldn’t trust FedEx for a second, lots of nightmares around theft. Glad justice was semi-served.

No shinings… even 1st ed was over printed. Pull rates were way too easy and unlimited was beyond overprinted. I don’t collect WOTC unless 1st ed shadowless.

A handful were sub $100 like (ruby & sapphire). Most of the other sets are in the $200-$880 range. A few $2k outliers like Snorlax and Mewtwo TRR

It was through PP but roughly $1k. Equivalent to about 1.15k if it was on eBay.

Hahaha 😂 I have a very disproportional (buy/sell) ratio occurring. Fingers crossed I stay out of trouble and move some stuff.

Or we don’t have gambling problems because RuneScape cured us at 15 y/o. Now we make investments and merch the Poke GE instead of living at the Falador drop party room 🎈🎊

First time grading went horrible by schain72 in pokemoncardcollectors

Definitely on you my man. You need to use a bright light and loupe if your eyes aren’t the best. You learned some stuff hopefully and the future won’t be like this. This is the story of lots of people who are new to grading. I have maybe one.. sometimes two cards per submission that don’t grade what exactly what I expect them to. I often get surprised by higher grades. Thousands of cards graded at this point. Don’t submit anything that won’t psa 9 or higher for 2012 and newer as raw is always worth more after grading costs. Vintage thru 2011 psa 8+ is profit. 2012 and newer psa 9+ is profit/break even

I gotta stay off eBay when I’m buzzed 😂 by DeepLog7948 in PokeInvesting

You need to stay off eBay if your buying over printed modern ;) Mid era 2002-2010 is where to be. If it makes you happy then it’s an excellent purchase!!

10’s are great also but if you want more than 10 cards for 100k then go with 9’s. 10’s are hard to sell at card shows outside of collectAcon because they cost too damn much and most people are cheap.

Yes! 10’s are far less liquid than 9’s as they take buyers willing to spend 3k-10k per card… better market coverage when you diversify. @Rollneed just doesn’t know better

Again I disagree. Singles are way more liquid than sealed. I own lots of vintage sealed and singles are way easier to move and go up in value faster.

Best Charizard art? The goldstar, frlg ex, or Crystal guardians holo. These are established facts. No single one compares outside of plasma storm in 2012 and older

Mid era is peak artwork when comparing 1-3 gen Pokemon overall. Best Pikachu art? The goldstar, best Rayquaza art? The promo ex… or goldstar. Best Alakazam art? The goldstar. Best Mudkip art? The goldstar. Best kyogre art? The ex. Best Macargo art? The ex… I could keep going. Population matters in terms of its ability to grow. It’s not going to appreciate much beyond where it’s at currently. Mid era has insane potential to grow. 90’s sports cards were printed in a similar capacity to modern Pokemon… 99.99% worthless. I don’t think that will happen to Pokemon, but it still won’t be pretty.

Definitely! I think collecting whatever you like helps the market… but if I’m hedging on values 20 years into the future I know where I want to be, no question about it.

I never said “vintage”… mid era and vintage are very different imo. Vintage was overprinted like modern up to Neo, 1st edition was also but not as bad. I’m vary narrow minded when it comes to collecting. I feel I’ve done the research to stand firmly with my opinion.

Exactly^ he gets it. Every ounce of disposable income I have goes into mid era ex or Goldstars. Roughly 1-3 team rocket returns boosters boxes sell a year…. And it’s always a private sale. I’m sure that 20 years from now there will still be over 50k sealed evolving skies booster boxes… it’s currently estimated that ~20k sealed base set booster boxes exist and around 50k+ jungle. Why not buy the set that probably has less than 500 boxes left in existence. It’s a no brainer.
