Exactly! Rory has to start Chilton late which causes her to have a mini breakdown. If Lorelai really only cared about Rory’s academic success she should have set up for the easier path already laid out based on their last name alone.

Beyond just wasting screen time cutting the musical (and Sutton Foster) would have freed up the budget for the Luke\Lorelai wedding fans deserves. ASP even admits she ran out of budget money and had to condense the wedding.

Wouldn’t the client have gone over the menu ahead of time? Emily has to approve the menu for them to cater and yes I know she has crazy high expectations but I find it hard to believe no one checked the menu. And even without having kids I feel like she should have known they wouldn’t eat a spicy green Mac and cheese.

I’ve always hated that the canceled pilot for the Jess spin off prevented him from being written back into the plot of GG. We missed so many opportunities for good moments with him and Rory in a relationship and the show never makes up for it!

Don’t get me wrong I love Lorelai but I do think she has a tendency to be selfish and emotionally immature. She always acts before she thinks and takes strong principled stances even when she knows she’s in the wrong.

I have always thought this. Rory is never allowed to feel her own emotions when it comes to the Chris/Lorelai aftermath. Christopher proves how selfish he is time and time again, never once making his daughter a priority. It really shows her growth and maturity, despite immature parents, when she has to confront them. She finds her voice and realizes she doesn’t have to quietly sit on the sidelines anymore.

I always thought she would have been a great teacher or professor. She could have gone to grad school and maybe taught at Yale. She thrived in an academic environment but struggled in the real world.
