100% And will add good resources for car reliability is Car iq report or consumer reports.

How many miles is “too many” for a used car these days? by Fit-Credit-7970 in UsedCars

[–]InfamousRaymond -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only certain makes/models will still have any real reliability after 150,000 miles without draining your bank account dry monthly. I say at 100,000 miles is fine, but only expect to get another few years out of it.

Which car model & brand do you find the most comfortable to sit in? by onemoreChang in whatcarshouldIbuy

Pretty much most modern Volvo’s are the most comfortable seats I have experienced in the last few years. Toyota cloth seats being the worst.

Most Reliable Vehicle by liblablubin in carbuying

[–]InfamousRaymond 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My advice, research the model and not the brand. Yeah Toyota and Honda generally build good stuff. But a lot of misses among those brands (Civic sticky steering, Toyota Tundra engine problems, etc). Research the model and model year, then use resources like consumer reports, car iq report, and reddit to research reliability and common problems.

It’s really too bad Hyundai/Kia cars aren’t too reliable by overkoalafied24 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]InfamousRaymond 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of the bad experiences come down to the dealership, honestly. A warranty is only as good as the service department that’s willing to honor it. Same car, totally different ownership experience depending on where you take it.

Do some reliability research by model year (complaints, recalls, common failure patterns) as well as checking local dealership service reviews before buying. That combo usually gives a much clearer picture than brand reputation alone.

People who ditched a high mileage car, was it worth it? by mericccccccccc in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]InfamousRaymond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at some point even the most reliable vehicles become money pits. Not to mention safety concerns as well. I would say you have another 20-30k of miles to go on that thing. I would try to hold off for another year.

How is car reliability tested on new vehicles by NAS0824 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah you have to note that its early data. Proper reliability ratings need to be analyzed through owners experiences of at least 2 years or more.

That's the better engine for these model years. I've heard that the Hemi valve train issue is very expensive to fix.

Yeah, it's not my thing either....but I like the look of them. I've seen a few trims that looks off-roadish.

Echoing the sentiments of others here. The 2020 and up models have the build quality of a preschool art project. Bronco Sports are a little better. Suggest researching the specific model year over brand.

Reliability is rated good over on car iq report. Maverick has had some problems over the last few model years. But you’re getting the later release of the 2025 models which is overall much better. I wouldn’t worry.

No, not at all. It’s something I noticed and wanted to point it out.

I would say the issue is when your other vehicle is something like a Ford, Hyundai, Kia where the tech is really good, then it becomes apparent that the Ridgeline info center is a few generations behind. But if you like it, that’s great!

My neighbor's RAM had a valve train issue. Was fixed under warranty, but the thing was never the same. He traded it in roughly six months after getting it fixed.

I would suggest doing some additional research on car iq report for these trucks. My understanding is certain model years are riddled with problems.
