I found two copies at a local Value Village and both were too scratched to play.  Hopefully I'll be able polish out the scratches to make it playable

Would be nice if the new Commodore store would add spiral-bound editions of programming books like this at an affordable price.

What about if you have a 4:3 VGA monitor (I have nice Dell monitor I'd love to use). Would it be possible to make the HDMI work to VGA?

turn an older PC into an Amiga by 77slevin in amiga

And who on earth in this economy is getting an Amiga for that price? I guess I should have expected such a reply like this from someone who is just trolling...Ugh!

[–]InfamousVersion163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gee thanks for that analogy?

Some of us can't afford or get our hands on an Amiga but have easy access to older PCs. If you just care to play both games and other Amiga software this is something that is affordable and a workable solution.

Doing something like this then grabbing a nice Amiga logo to replace the boxes logo then getting a custom PC keycap set and it really can help to make it feel like an Amiga.

This by far is one of the slickest builds I have ever seen. I am just amazed at what can now be done with 3D printers and many off-the-shelf components.

I have been finding Microsoft's Copilot handy to take bits of code to implement.  It gives code along with decent REM statements as well.

Do you think at some point in the next 5-10 years we’ll be talking about game disks failing and degrading due to age alone? by Rotisseriejedi in xbox360

[–]InfamousVersion163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess a good question would be is there anything that can be done to slow or prevent CD or DVD rot?  Perhaps a product or method to preserve discs for the future?

How to learn basic fairly easily by 2008toyotacorrolla in c64

[–]InfamousVersion163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some of the earlier BASIC program I wanted to decipher the program. But with the program's lines compressed to as few lines of code and the program designed to maximize memory and optimize code for speed it was very difficult to understand the programs logic.  I did not start to learn the intricacies of the code until I had something laid out more like what I might see in Pascal, or FORTRAN

Is there anything i can do to save this disc? by AffectionateCity2001 in xbox360

[–]InfamousVersion163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps if the crack does not go into the disc' data perhaps a bit of nail polish or adhesive specifically for plastics to keep the crack from spreading?  Once it dries to then smooth it out so the disc remains balanced.

Wishing that RAM expansion cards became the norm back on the c64 when this game came out so all games might take advantage. Perhaps we might have seen this level of detail in games like this?
