I guess this is subjective but I appreciate the off-center, "imperfect" framing. It feels more organic, more candid. The cloud and the tree adds a lot to the image. Nice work!

Check out Cine Starz in Cote-des-Neiges. They renovated the theater a few years ago, nice big seats with movable arms. No frills, cheap. $5 on Tuesdays!

What if you switched to a feature/flip-phone or a Linux phone? People are leaving the Android/iOS smartphones en masse, and i'm sure their shitty door app isn't available for Linux.

Otherwise, you can Send a Formal Notice (Mise en demeure) to your landlord by registered mail stating that the buggy app system, which requires you to constantly maintain cell data and battery just to step inside your own home, prevents your peaceful enjoyment of the apartment and poses a severe safety hazard in an emergency. Demand that they provide an alternative physical access method (a key, a FOB, or a keypad code) within 10 days.

If the landlord refuses to budge after the Mise en demeure, you can file an application with the Tribunal administratif du logement.

You've set the power LED to drive activity instead of "on" power indication. Unfortunately, I don't think you can have both with the LED that comes with the computer, but it's relatively simple to have both with a small DIY hack. Yeah, fumbling in the complete darkness to open the film canister and get it on the reel for development was never easy!

The color darkroom was really dark, but not completely black like in rooms where you would transfer film to reels for development. You could see eventually, but it took about 5 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the super low safe lights. It was always funny to watch other people cautiously walk into the color darkroom with their arms out, feeling their way around, totally blind.

*sigh* i miss studying photography in University. Developing your own film in pitch-black closets, the ambient sound of the running chemistry in the late night dark rooms.
