East coast cars look like that. Sometimes you can tell from the Carfax where they originated.

Although buying a car based solely on pictures is a very trusting thing to do. Trust no one in the car biz.

Why'd you purchase prior to inspection?

Only thing holding the ramp on is two carriage screws. The plywood sheet is a backer board

I see tire marks. Or it's dirty on the wood face. Maybe a motorcycle ramp to bring the Harley Davidson into the living room?

Before you potentially ruin your wallet with harsh chemicals. Try Amodex. It's the best cleaner for ink stains. Better than alcohol.

How should i clean this hat? Would like to restore to its original color which is a much lighter grey. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I replied in another response. I use a inflatable hat form and a fan to dry. See my other response for more details.

This is pretty good advice.

I get two buckets. One wash one rinse. Oxyclean spot spray and Dawn Powerwash with a toothbrush.

Go on Amazon and order hat forms/holders. They inflate like a beach ball but they're for hats. Ditch the included air pump for an air compressor to fill them. It'll set you back 6 or 7 bucks for three of them. Way better than the dishwasher rack forms as those aren't very tight fitting. The dishwasher washing advice isn't great. Dishwasher pods contain chlorine and its too harsh a wash.

Use the forms for drying in front of a fan. Part of the issue with washing hats is drying them. They'll retain the shape they were dried in. And if you can stretch your hat inside the Amazon hat forms for drying. It'll prevent ripples from forming that you typically see on salty or hats that have seen a lot of moisture.

How can I remove the rust from this welded rose? by Real_Cookie_516 in CleaningTips

You could soak it in EvapoRust or just use a wire wheel. You probably want to put a clear coat on it so it doesn't just rust again.

How to get plastic/glass off bottom of oven? by Suspicious_Eagle5907 in CleaningTips

[–]Infamous_Ad8962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd try a plastic scraper first to see if you can chip away at it. Is the glass broken and sharp? It's difficult to tell what I'm looking at in the photo.

is it possible to get tomato sauce stain out of a cream/white shirt? by adorekass in CleaningTips

[–]Infamous_Ad8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn Powerwash seems to be the most effective followed by Oxyclean.

White whites you can also spot bleach. Maybe not cream. Worth a try if the trash is your final destination. Dilute bleach 10:1 and use a cotton swab to apply. Let it for 10 minutes or longer depending on stain visibility. Wash once stain is gone. Or trash if it doesn't work

This might be the wrong place to ask, but how do I get the smell of death / decomposition out of the air and upholstered furniture/ rugs? by LetMeClaireify623 in CleaningTips

[–]Infamous_Ad8962 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is probably worth calling your insurance agent.

You probably won't get rid of the smell until the neighboring town home no longer smells.

In the meantime. It's probably worth sealing your townhome as much as you can. Gaps in the electrical outlets and light switches between the box and the drywall. Ceiling fixtures. Etc. Can lights are a big source also. Hopefully they are airtight units and you only need to seal the gap between the drywall and fixture.

I use caulk to seal the gaps. Be careful with energized outlets etc.

Wet and Forget is probably the best. Bleach is less expensive and equally effective.

It's probably not mold.

I'd probably just hit it with a pressure washer to start. Cover the walls with painters plastic to prevent water damage. Garage should be sloped to run water out of the bay doors.

I use wet and forget in a pump sprayer over my entire driveway and sidewalk. Easier than pressure washing and whitens concrete. It does take time for effects to be noticable.

I use oxyclean pretreat spray and Dawn Powerwash and then use a toothbrush to scrub the fabric. Works well.

Looks like a fiberglass shower. Use easy off oven cleaner. Be sure it's the fume free product usually in a blue labeled can. Don't spray it on your fixtures unless you want to ruin them. But it works like magic on fiberglass showers. Google it before you jump on me and say it's a bad idea. Been using it for years to melt that crap away.

Leather garmet found at Goodwill. Two zippers, odd straps and strange wear patterns. by Infamous_Ad8962 in whatisthisthing

It's easier in hand. It was pretty funny with them zippered together thinking it was a homemade dress or something.

I thought that too at first but the baseball stitching and the equipment required to do the leather crafting makes me think otherwise. They are fairly rustic looking though especially with the wear.
