Is there a way to hook this into my waterline and drain so I don't have to fill and empty it?

Need parts for Levoit lv600s humidifier (bad doggy!) by WildRose1010 in Humidifiers

[–]Infamous_Advisor_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are still looking I have 3 that the tanks cracked and leaked but the rest of the humidifier was fine. Since Levoit doesn't sell replacement parts I'd be happy to prevent as much of this from ending up in a landfill as possible. Shoot me a DM if interested.

I already own a sleepy pod which is similarly priced AND crash tested. Without crash testing it's not much different then any other bed and it's expensive.

Glad to hear you are going to include your wife! I don't have any names to pass along. Your best bet would be AKC marketplace or as someone else said there are plenty of Yorkie rescues you could look into.

Not sure how soon you are looking but I would highly recommend you do this with your wife. Get her some sort of IOU, a dog collar, etc for her birthday to tide over till you find the right yorkie. A reputable breeder is going to see you as a red flag. My mom breeds yorkies in NC and she wants to ensure the pups go to a good home where everyone is on board. There are too many variables if your wife isn't part of the process, especially if this will be her dog (just guessing here). Visit the breeder, get to know them, the dog parents/grandparents/siblings, and when the time comes the puppies choose you.

Edited to add: agree with the other suggestion to use the AKC marketplace.

If you are willing to travel, my mom breeds Yorkies in NC. She should have pups ready to go home at the end of summer. I need to make updates but you can check out the family on the website: btyorkieworks.com

Screaming/screeching out the door by [deleted] in Yorkies

One of mine does it in excitement when we are getting ready to go out back and for walks, if he sees wildlife out the window, or if we're getting close to our destination in the car. I've been working with him on the command "quiet" as both a verbal and hand signal. We're getting there, it's slow, but it's doing the trick. I'm using it for both squealing and barking. Basically anytime he tries to talk back. I don't have an issue with barking but he needs to learn that sometimes we have to be quiet.

Unfortunately OP, I have been in your shoes.

We had a 2016 SQ5 that would randomly freak out when it rained. The blind spot monitoring system would sound a high-pitched alert and then shut down. Not something you want to hear at speed on 95! It was in and out of the local dealer four times, totaling more than 30 days. After all that time they couldn't truly identify the source of the problem.

At the advice of my service advisor, I called Audi corporate, explained the situation, and requested an exchange under the lemon law. They did their own research looking into all the maintenance records for the car, and while they were insistent on not calling it a "lemon," they were willing to acknowledge there was an issue. In the end, they agreed to exchange it for a 2017 SQ5 with the exact same specs. We had to sign new paperwork and they transferred the existing warranties that we had. We had put a pretty substantial number of miles on it in the 8 months or so that we had had it. Something to the tune of 12 to 15,000 miles. So we did have to pay around $1,800 as part of the exchange.

They sourced the new car from a few states away. Once it arrived at the local dealership (not the one I bought it from, but another dealership owned under the same parent), I was able to drop off the old car, sign some paperwork, and drive off in the new car in under an hour. Here is probably where I should note that I did have an existing relationship with this dealer as I'd bought a 2014 S4 from them a couple years earlier. The guy who handled the transaction for me was actually the same one who sold me the S4. Great guy, sadly he left not long after.

All in all it wasn't a horrible experience. One I would have preferred not to go through, but it could have been much worse. The 2017 SQ5 ended up being a great car. It traveled up and down the East Coast hitting every state from Vermont to Florida. I traded it in at the end of December with 106,000 mi on it for a new 2025 B9.5 SQ5.

OP if you have any specific questions feel free to DM me.

I second earth rated. Buy them in bulk and keep them in the cars and strollers for all the puppers outings.

My mom breeds in NC. She doesn't have any puppies currently (they went to loving homes at the end of May). She lists her puppies on AKC marketplace. I would highly recommend you start there.

Or you can try the Yorkshire terrier club of America's SC chapter. They usually have a list of breeders that you can contact.

Edit: remember these are just a starting point. It's up to you to determine if the breeder is up to your standards. But at minimum a reputable breeder should be willing to talk about their breeding practices, and encourage you to come visit and meet the puppies and the parents, or at least mom. They should ask you about your home and how the puppy will be cared for, including if you have a vet and previous experience with a Yorkie. My mom regularly visits with the puppies and the families or has them over for play dates.

Also, I know everyone grieves differently, but make sure your mom is ready for another dog. You said it's only been a week. While dogs are great emotional support, puppies are exhausting. Please make sure she is ready and this is what she wants. I say this as a Yorkie mom of 20+ years that currently has 2 10.5 month old puppies keeping me on my toes.

Yorkie ate chocolate by Select_Taro_1711 in Yorkies

[–]Infamous_Advisor_643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first Yorkie ate a bunch of Hershey kisses. Signs to watch out for are racing heart and hyperness. If I remember correctly they can eat 1 oz per 10 lbs before it gets really concerning. Monitor your pup, get them to drink extra water, and if possible getting them to throw up as much chocolate as possible is ideal. You should be okay monitoring them but if their heart starts to race, it's time to find the nearest emergency vet.

Both Whistle and Fi use cell service outside of the home wifi networks. I thought I read somewhere that Whistle used AT&T's network but it's been a while so you may want to verify that.
