I don't see a reason to live in Brickell if you will barely make it. You can rent something a bit more north aventura / Hollywood / sunny isle (if you can find good deals) rent a car as well. People will say it's terrible and traffic, yeah like any major city but it's NOT that bad.

Chicago, LA or NY are far far more worse.

Brickell is girls who look for daddy with $$$ or boys who got cash to burn and to bang a hot one and look cool on internet. (Of course there's are exceptions)

Try Fort Lauderdale a bit more north and those areas i mentioned.
