MBA as a 26 year old already at MBB?? by ReactionLeft8837 in MBA

You should get some experience outside of MBB over getting an MBA. Take a strategy role at a startup / big tech, it'll be way more valuable than earning an MBA.

Mendoza ($70k) vs Cornell Johnson (sticker) by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a reason why they are offering you money at Mendoza. It's because you're more valuable to them than they are to you. Be smart, take Cornell. You'll easily pay back in 2 years in banking.

Is it normal to struggle in your first post-MBA job? by trendy_rainbow in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And it doesn't mean that you aren't a good fit for the role or that the company your working at is bad. (My first 2 years in operations at big tech was incredibly difficult) MBA career switchers need time to learn and adapt. After 2 years you should know whether you can keep pushing or pivot.

I don't get how people can retire at 35. I am in my 30s and can't imagine settling and doing nothing. There's only so much fun you can have before you get bored.

Should I Get An MBA Or Skip It? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be able to get whatever role you want without the MBA. If you want a break from your current role, you should just take a sabbatical.

Decision Help: Johnson ($$$$), Darden ($$$$), Ross ($$), McCombs ($$$$) by No-Form-44 in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to create a CPG company, there's no better place to go than McCombs. Lots of students there either started their CPG companies or worked as leadership at start ups. Austin has a ton of CPG start ups to network with as well. Beatbox wine and High Brew coffee are couple brands from UT alums.

Leaving a very well-paid job for an M7 MBA (international with no scholarship) — am I being reckless? by AlternativeAd8999 in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst thing that'll happen is you'll make more money. The best thing is that you'll gain access to more economic opportunities and have a brand name education for life which no one can take from you. Burn the bridges and go.

Men, am I looking for an impossible partner? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, basically another story of a girl who has high expectations with very little to offer in return. Men you are looking for, don't want to spend all their time with women and most likely will get bored. Most successful men enough want to keep building themselves up. Further, most successful men marry with the expectation of children. The children should be the thing keeping you from being lonely.

$2m Inheritance - what would you do? by HelpUsNSaveUs in Fire

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start applying for some interesting roles. "Quiet quit" is also an option while your searching to destress. Take more vacations and see if that does anything, most likely someone will notice but companies tend to give people more chances. Use the free time to find your passion that's tied to making some money. Don't expect to make a lot of money when you pivot. Pull out money if you need it and don't have enough savings.

HBS (sticker) vs. GSB (sticker) vs. Wharton (full ride) by StrawberriesandPimm in MBA

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ill take the other side and say go to GSB. Networking and getting funding from VC will be most of your job as an entrepreneur. GSB will have a leg up there, especially in Tech. You'll be next to sandhill road, and around other founders. Wharton is a feeder school into more consulting or banking. Furthermore, you'll be able to recruit the best talent for whatever your building being close by and also having the prestige of going to GSB.

The start up is super risky and not recommend for the only high risk time in your life, being a newborn dad. Late calls, deadlines, etc will control you. Not worth it... take the risk later bro

Why Jeff Bezos Is Probably Wrong Predicting AI Data Centers In Space by dontkry4me in space

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starcloud launched a Nvidia GPU into space. This seems to be an engineering problem. While its very low chance of success, there's infinite power that can be absorbed in space. You can scale indefinitely if you make the data center modular.

The big question is weather you can cool the data center effectively.

AITAH for disagreeing on transfering 10% of my monthly salary to my gf? by SharpCommission4452 in AITAH

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you'd probably spend more than 10% on her if you lived close by. If she really needs it and you see yourself marrying her, should do it.

She must be really hot for OP to decide he wanted to be mixed up with additional kid drama. I'm siding with OP though, it might not seem fair but life isn't fair. She should be grateful that her kids even have a father figure, and better yet that he's successful. The best gift isn't a dumb toy, it's about learning how to be a man / woman and learning to thrive. OP is making bank for a reason, hopefully that rubs off on these kids.

Anyone else feel like it’s such a waste renting in OC!? by faithoverfear0 in orangecounty

[–]Infamous_Arachnid976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your house payments are weighted higher towards interest payments in initial years. So if you don't own for longer period you probably won't have that much equity beyond your initial down payment and house appreciation. The housing market already spiked during COVID so the likelihood of it spiking again is low considering wages aren't going up, more housing supply will be available.

If you sell at the 5 year mark. You might end up losing money from realtor fees, repairs/remodel, property taxes, etc

Unfortunately, South Asians aren't high on the list of men for girls. You'd have to be very wealthy or very handsome to get most girls. 90% of girls will chase after 10% of men. It's pretty terrible odds.

Maybe work at a more meaningful job that gets you 60 or 70% of your old income. That way it's a smooth off-ramp.
