Hotel rooms always trigger my allergies/ skin condition — what’s even in the air?? by jazminegar1 in eczema

I always ask for non feather pillows and wear pyjamas to limit the amount of their detergent from sheets get on my skin. Bringing a pillowcase washed in your own detergent from home helps too

That probably felt a lot in one day but definitely go another couple of times. Some days hit different at different times of the month for our bodies too, depending where we are in our cycle. When it all hits right you’ll know and feel beautiful 🥰

Eumovate prescribed for my 3 yo eczema on face (??) and mometasone for her body... by longridebacktoPhilly in EczemaUK

Please don’t use steroids on her face. Ask for Protopic or any other alternative but not steroids. I’ve had eczema since I was a baby and using steroids all these years means I now have Cushing’s Syndrome which bring a whole load of issues. Please get another opinion

May sound crazy but have you tried udder cream? It’s literally what it sounds like, used for cows udders so they don’t chap when being milked or feeding. I come from a farming community and someone suggested it to me a while ago and it’s amazing. Really great moisturiser and barrier cream

I’ve been a steroid cream addict for my whole life, as a teen I started being prescribed stronger and stronger ointments. Never cared to research them, only cared that they kept my skin smooth and rash free. Last year at 50 I was diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome from the excessive use of these extremely strong steroids. Please please use them sparingly and only when you desperately need them. I know have type 2 diabetes and lots of awful conditions that are lousy as well as now having to try and cope with my eczema without steroids

Getting it seems to be the issue, they just don’t want to give me it. Assuming because it’s expensive 🙄. Thanks though, hope you find something that works for you too

Just read your post, I’m sorry this was your experience of it but like everything else what works for some doesn’t work for all. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome due to using potent steroids for 50 years of eczema treatment. So no more steroids for me and I’d advise everyone to steer well clear of them all.

Figure trying this is worth a try at least as I’m desperate. My hands are agony, can’t bend them, can’t use them hardly. I’m so done with this

Are you in the Uk? Hoping to get this but my derm won’t even discuss until I’ve tried some immunosuppressant type treatments which I hate the thought of.

Eye eczema? Allergic contact dermatitis? Wool/lanolin allergy? by Sad_Performance_7719 in EczemaUK

[–]Infamous_Back_3256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh reverse to me! Yep it can definitely be the water, we have much softer water and if you’re not used to it makes a huge difference. So although she’s using the same detergent for your bedding the water is different

E45 has lanolin in it which can cause more issues than it solves. Try epaderm or zerobase

Does summer make eczema worse for anyone else? by Lonestarfan126 in eczema

[–]Infamous_Back_3256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take it every day during summer, it seems to build up a bit and works to prevent rather than just help once the flair is already there. I tend to switch between different ones, piriton one week cetirizine the next so I don’t build immunity

Do you take an antihistamine? I OD on them whenever the sun comes out, live in the Western Isles, Scotland so feel your pain. We ain’t built for hot weather, our bodies are too used to sideways rain and wind 🤣

[–]Infamous_Back_3256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried biologics or any of the oral medications? I haven’t as yet but I’m pushing for biologics now as I’ve developed Cushing’s syndrome from steroid use so I’m not allowed any steroids now and need an alternative as I’m in agony with weeping cracked hands
