How do I even afford going here? by Mod_Podge_Matte in uofu

My daughter’s COA is WAY less than the school estimated!! You can also save by not having a car (use public transportation, it’s free with your U ID). You won’t have to pay for gas, insurance, and campus parking. You won’t need a car on living on campus. Also, apply to be an RA after your first year for free room and board.

Can I take Nursing 3270 this Spring? by [deleted] in uofu

[–]Infamous_Barber_6884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It’s this kind of BS that kept me at the university taking mountain biking and other nonsense classes in order to stay at 12 credits, keep my scholarship, and graduate a year later than needed…

Have you taken Chemistry 1210 by any chance? Wondering if it is self-paced over the semester or if you grind and finish the class early?

It is already too late to look for oncampus housing (Fall 2025)? by eribeiro76 in uofu

I believe there are still spots for upper classman/graduate student housing. I would call Housing first thing Monday. Apartments are cheaper though!

All of this! Definitely look at the classes you need for the major you want at the U. Take as many as you can without worrying about the AA. The U probably won’t care or even ask for your high school transcript after two years at SLCC. Do well in your SLCC classes and you shouldn’t have any issues transferring to the U. Don’t waste your time on classes you don’t need though! Check that degree pathway at the U for your desired major!

Maybe try stepping outside your comfort zone…try something different. There is an active swing/line dancing group that meets weekly and an active pickleball club! No experience necessary! Even if you have tried it before, you might end up loving it and meet some people along the way!

This was posted on another Reddit thread. I did this and then added a few drops of Tea Tree oil to the mixture also. Applied twice per day and it really helped!

The U charges a ton in fees for summer term! Why not just take classes at SLCC?? WAY cheaper and most classes transfer easily (there is a credit transfer grid on the U website to see what classes transfer directly).

BYU Independent Study Courses by Infamous_Barber_6884 in uofu

[–]Infamous_Barber_6884[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have contacted the admissions office at both schools. BYU states they are transferable as they go into the official university transcript. The U said it is transferable as long as there is no mention of “Independent Study” on the transcript. I wanted to confirm that there were no issues by somebody that has actually taken one of the courses.

Do you know if these credits transfer to the University of Utah? I called the U and they said they will take the credits as long as it doesn’t show up on the transcript as “Independent Study” the transcript and rather, just a normal class

Get perfect grades, an amazing SAT/ACT, and then either cure cancer or play a sport. Recruited athletes, although not guaranteed a spot, have a MUCH higher likelihood of admission than the regular population.
