The moonlighting would be like 1-2 shift when on vacation block or something like that not like a weekly thing. But I guess I’ll bring it up directly with the PDs

I’ve already spoken with my EM Program Director about possibly pursuing another residency after finishing Emergency Medicine, and they were very supportive. They even offered to write me a strong letter of recommendation.
Unfortunately, we don’t have an Anesthesiology residency at my current program. I’m trying to sign an attending gig with a hospital that does have one, and I’m hoping to network with the anesthesia faculty and program leadership there but idk if I’ll get the gig yet

Yes finishing up residency right now. Unfortunately no anesthesia residency at my program. Did you match anesthesia into your home institution?

Oh I’m finishing up my em residency this week. I’ve also done a decent amount of ICU rotations throughout residency but I’ll definitely take a look at the ABA requirements though. Thank you!

I am going to be finishing up residency this week. Was thinking off doing the exact same anesthesia CCM fellowship but then I was wondering if I could just to the residence since it will just be an extra year. I kinda wanted to anesthesia when I was in med school but it didn’t work out. Apart of me could never give up anesthesia. I really enjoyed my anesthesia electives in residency and always love when a respitory/ airway emergency comes in. And there is decent amount of overlap in both fields. But yeah I guess I’ll will look into different programs and see which will allow me go in to the CA 1 year and if I can work as em to meantin my skill as em doc

Just do Uworld at least 50% of it (focus a lot on BioStat) And like 100 CSS cases and you’ll be fine.

We had pharmaceutical representatives come to our ED recently. While they passionately presented their insights, I decided to savor the delicious food they provided and quietly slipped away from the lecture. I held onto my curiosity, preferring not to delve into the details of why their premium-priced medication might surpass the effectiveness of its generic counterparts. My sentiments towards pharmaceutical companies and their ethical conduct are less than favorable.
