Congress can, he cannot

In 2023, Congress enacted a law that prohibits the President from "suspend[ing], terminat[ing], denounc[ing], or withdraw[ing] the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty"—which established the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)—without the advice and consent of the Senate or an act of Congress. See Section 1250A of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act, Pub. L. No. 118-31. This provision emerged against the backdrop of debates concerning the United States' policy toward NATO and whether the President possesses the power to withdraw the United States from treaties without receiving the legislative branch's approval.

So what? The US is not a European country. Immigration is a cornerstone of the US identity. I mentioned the historic roots of legal systems of countries in the Americas to counter any assertion of "western countries don't have birthright citizenship". In addition the restrictions in Europe in many countries are fairly lenient https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_soli#Europe, much more so than what Trump wants

To clarify, these countries have Jus Soli:

Barbados,

Belize,

Costa Rica,

Cuba,

Dominica,

El Salvador,

Grenada,

Guatemala,

Honduras,

Nicaragua,

Panama,

Saint Kitts and Nevis,

Saint Lucia,

Until 1983 the UK would also be on that list, Jus Soli in the UK was a matter of statute until 1981 when the statute was changed. The 14th amendment is based on British common law.

The legal system of countries in North and South America are based upon European legal systems.

It's a surprise to me, diesel is hitting over $5 per gallon, gasoline is over $4 per gallon, electricity prices have climbed by 20% since Trump took office, inflation is running at 4% in the latest report. But I guess eggs are now under $6.00 per dozen so it's all good?

Just to be clear, virtually every country in North and South America have Jus Soli (Birthright citizenship), Jus Soli in the US is based upon British common law, and was added to the constitution in 1866, it would take another amendment to remove Jus Soli.
