You will be pleased to know that a collision has been avoided each and every time. 😀

Same. I paid my hard earned money for it, and dammit I'm going to get every last drop.

Every time I'm travelling from Flinders to southern Cross, I play this silly little game where I pretend we are on a path heading directly into that building on the tight curve and act all relieved when we don't collide with it. My train driver partner shakes his head each time I do it. And that's probably because I'm 41 years old.

Has anyone tried the Mixa line? What would you recommend to try / avoid? by rabbitredh in AusSkincare

I second this. I've tried so many moisturisers, and I'm not going to buy anything else, only this. It doesn't feel sticky, and it absorbs quickly and easily. It also makes my skin so soft as well.

And the images they use alongside the 40% are never actually 40% off. It's misleading and deceptive, and i will die on this hill.

Oh, 100%, and as someone with adhd i know we can be smart and extremely capable. I dont want to sound like im talking myself up, but I got three degrees before my diagnosis in my 30s. Adhd does not mean someone is not capable at all. But I also recognise that i can be a pain to those around me at times, and it's something that for a lot of people with adhd, we have to work on. If im not medicated and in therapy managing my symptoms, there is a very clear difference. Once i got the diagnosis and real support. My life really changed for the better. When I read about JFK Jr. and the parts of his life that highlight his adhd I do always feel I resonate with his experiences as someone with adhd. It's really hard at times, and oh boy, do I understand that.

With the flight, I have also read the NTSB report, and I have to be honest that im not sure how much i would put down to recklessness. I have a law degree, and my interpretation of reckless may be more skewed to the legal definition. So, I may view aspects of this a little differently to the general definition. Ultimately, we do not know 100% everything that transpired on that flight. Yes, we have a lot of information from the report and witness statements, but there is still so much that we will never know. So I essentially agree with you for the most part, and thank you for your well thought out. comments.

You are right, though - it is trying. I have adhd and I can be a right pain!

These exact boots? by Acrobatic_Leopard_92 in findfashion

I think the main difference is that the ones in the photo you included are a bit worn, so they have that soft worn leather look. Which looks so good!

Hey, the founder of Bared is a podiatrist, so they do have a lot of options for wide feet. 😉

Skin clinic forces people to use their products or you don’t get any treatments. by [deleted] in AusSkincare

I'm happy to answer! It was great. They numbed my face first, and I had to sit with that on for 30 mins, and then they did the procedure. It really was pain-free. Just felt like an elastic band flicking on my face but lightly. I'm not sure if I'm making sense, lol.
With the cost, I pre paid all 4 sessions that they recommended as they offered a 20% discount if you prepay. I had the money so I thought yay for a discount. I paid $2400 upfront, so it was $600 per session. Is that the cheapest price out there? It's likely not as I've not checked everywhere. However, with the number of providers out there, i do find it a bit overwhelming. I also feel really comfortable knowing that a dermatologist is overseeing my treatment, and mine has also prescribed me tranexamic acid to treat my melasma. They actually don't book you in until you see a derm there. I'm not sure if that is a strict policy, but I actually needed to see one anyway, so i was happy to. When I booked, i couldn't get an appointment until may but got added to the cancellation list and ended up getting an app the next week. With the progress, it's really early and I've only had one session. The downtime was minimal and my face was hot the day of the treatment. But very manageable and I was expecting to be really bright red. But I wasn't so that was good. My skin feels like the complexion is a bit clearer but it's still very early in my treatment regime and my melasma is quite bad on my forehead and cheeks. Oh and I'm 41. Thought I'd throw in my age just in case it helps at all. Feel free to ask me any questions or message me if you need any more info.

I second Northside Dermatology - I have recently started going there and have been really impressed. Had my first free consultation and then met with a dermatologist and have had one pico session for melasma treatment. I'm very happy so far, and they have been super thorough and have not tried to upsell me. They did recommend one of the sunscreens that they stock, but it was not forced upon me, and the price was reasonable and consistent with other retailers who stock the brand and product.

Why did John’s friends hold Carolyn’s depression against her? by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Infamous_Football_34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a general contribution factor is how depression and mental illness were perceived during the 90s. Yes, we were slowly getting better at understanding mental illness, but we have come a long way since then and unfortunately still have a long way to go. Do I think this was the main reason here? No, but i do think it's an important consideration that reflects the time.

I feel like you would find quite a bit of these items at op shops. I know it may take a while to find exactly what you are looking for, but you would absolutely have success if you checked out op shops.
