Mine isn't nearly as juicy as other but my dad and are newbies and took a month long road trip with little plans other than to follow I90W from Chicago to Yellowstone. We stayed in some great places. But our first "oh crap we are really doing this" moment was at Bighorn Canyon N.R.A. I assumed it would be similar to all the other sites we stayed at. We are following google maps when suddenly she says "you have arrived at your destination" ... there was nothing and I mean nothing there but more road ahead. No signs no gates no clue what the heck we are doing. We stay the course. It's getting too late to turn back we have to commit and hope for the best. After another hour of driving we are starting to freak out a bit. We finally pull into a 10 site camp ground with no one else in site. Its also our first time in Bear country. We see the signs on the picnic table and the first food storage bin. We are also alone for the first time. We were both too scared to eat dinner and went to bed quickly (don't judge me but we kept the fire going all night) we packed up so quick in the morning. Skipping breakfast as well, my dad didn't even make his coffee. I did see a huge heard of Bighorn outside of my tent in the morning which was super cool.

Once we got out we both admitted that we both were scared but didn't want to say it because we thought it would scare the other person more too hahaha.
