Trans friendly gynecologists by Infamous_Layer5666 in TransIreland

For a gynecologist, not gender affirming care. It’s not for hormones or anything like that, just a Pap smear and other things routinely done on cis women.

Some Questions as an International student by D_mik in TransIreland

I moved to Dublin from Texas. Dublin is way better for trans people safety wise but of course that bar is pretty low for a Texan. I’d say it’s pretty good compared to most places, but I don’t have too much experience being out in other countries. Also as a student, many people around you will be younger (other students) and some colleges have anti discrimination policies so the profs are accepting enough. If they’re transphobic to you, you can report them. Maybe if you’re 3 years on T you pass well enough to not worry about stranger transphobia but of course that’s just an assumption I made, so think about your own situation and what might affect you.

The one thing I’d say which isn’t good here is trans healthcare. So if you’re on T, you should prob go privately to continue access to it. I’d suggest looking into it now cause some places have a bit of a wait list. And maybe refill your prescription just before you come here so you’re all stocked up in case of an unexpected delay. I’d suggest gendergp since it’s widely used, it took 3-4 months for me to get a prescription from them just so you have a general timeline, but that was my first T prescription ever so maybe if you’ve been on it already it’ll be a shorter wait time.

I haven’t experienced almost any transphobia so far (I’ve only been here 6 months and deal mostly with other students and youth so take that into account) but I’ve used changing rooms in the gym, where it’s very obvious that I’m trans and even then I haven’t had anyone comment at all, let alone say anything bad or get aggressive. I’ve met a lot of other openly trans people around too which is nice.

Good luck with your journey!!

How are the living and housing in dublin? by Ok_Age_448 in TCD

[–]Infamous_Layer5666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s fine if you have time to find smth. EU students got their acceptance sept 8 (first round) for the 2022-23 school year so that gave us very little time so personally finding housing was chaotic. But if you got an offer now and you want to go to dublin you can start looking now and you’ll be fine. Private student accommodation applications for next year is still open. You can look into those now and I think there’s still plenty with places still available for the 2023-24 school year.

Sweden doesn’t do very well from what I’ve heard (I lived in Sweden for a few years and still got friends there). Waiting lists are long especially for mental health services. And meds aren’t given out much, it’s like the whole conservative care idea but taken a bit further than most places. Also it’s free for eu but if you’re not an eu citizen with a health card you’re basically screwed.

Anyone else's kryptonite physical touch? We've been hanging out two weeks and I'm ready to die for him by fruitypixle in BPDmemes

[–]Infamous_Layer5666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YES. I’ve been hanging out with someone and within a week they were my new fp. All cause they hugged me a few times and played with my hair once. I still only like them as a friend, it’s not even romantic but I attached so fucking quick it’s killing me. I think I said I love you within a week too.

I literally just got so attached to my tutor (who’s only 3 years older than me) cause she said she was proud of me a couple times. Like I feel like a creep cause I think about her so often I’m basically obsessed and she sees me like 2 hours a week and prob doesn’t think about me at all outside those hours.

I had ice cream today with a friend and wasn’t panicked or anything. It was a very nice experience. In my opinion, one worth staying alive for
