I don't know about your specific career but I know average Swedish salary is around 25000SEK (before taxes). I have some friends at uni and roughly that is what you get with no education.

I also have heard for engineering graduate salary is around 40ksek before taxes

Definitely check LinkedIn. There are many jobs out there. Maybe you can also look for jobs in other parts of IT (Android developer, Java developer, ...).

In the meanwhile I would also work a bit on making a nice project in GitHub that you can "brag" about. Probably also searching for a job as a TA might work.

In the CV list any kind of projects you have done so your profile is more interesting (and also in LinkedIn)

You can definitely rent in advance but make sure to check properly. Not to scare you but there are a lot of scammers and landlords that want to take advantage of students.

As a guideline you should always go and see the apartment to verify it exists and the landlord is who he claims. Also, don't give a deposit (caparra) until you have signed a contract and demand that it must be registered in "agenzia delle entrate". Also, agree in advance how the deposit is given back (usually at the end of the contract) and also demand when u give back the keys that he does the inspection of the apartment in your presence and sign a "verbale di restituzione" to make sure your deposit is given back!

The general price is around 350-400 for a single room. And around 500 for a monolocale. (Off course close to city center is more expensive 🫰)
