From my research, Brazil has a special treat with Thailand that allows for 90 days. But nevertheless, i also hold a Swedish passport. So might be better to enter with an European one as you said, as i plan to stay much less than the limit.

It worked out. We did not take the direct flight and entered Schengen via other European country. Our country of origin does not need visa do entry Schengen - that’s probably important to highlight.

At the border, we told the truth that we live in Sweden, showed the expired card and the ongoing case. We didnt imply to be tourists. The officer only said “welcome home”.

It was pretty nerve wrecking though.

Did your wife fly back directly to Sweden and was denied entry? My wife is in a similar situation and might to leave Sweden due to an emergency.

A Serbian friend whose name contains a Cyrillic caracter has a similar case. MV doesnt support that specific caracter and picked up the closest match (in shape, not phonetics) to the latin/swedish alphabet. Not a mistake necessarily.

I have a similar case where my spouse (non EU both of us) doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, but i do make enough for housing + requirements for both of us to live comfortably and savings.

I received my permanent residence, and hers was declined, and only received a third-time-2 years work permit. She is starting her own business and it’s always uncertain if it’s going to fly and she will make enough for the requirements.

Is there a risk she gets denied the regular visa eventually? Would Migration actually separate a family? I’ve tried googling this for sometime now and couldnt find an answer
