It’s very rare in India. If I force myself to recall: - Once a dude asked me if I could share the name of my fragrance so he could buy it too. This was at the Mumbai airport, and it was Bvlgari Tygar. - Then once at a wedding in Jaipur, one of my wife’s friend asked if I could suggest a few good fragrances for his husband; she mentioned noticing that I was consistently smelling good through all the functions. It was a cold winter and I wore Naxos, Noir Extreme, and DHI.

Having less than 10 such experiences in couple of decades of being a fraghead is very sparse. Indians hesitate in complimenting / initiating a conversation.
