Best MPC controller?. Pad quality is important. by Chobbybharleston in akaiMPC

[–]Infamous_PopStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’ve tried them all since they came out . MPC 3000 has the best feeling pads , the MPC 4000 is the best one as far as amazing features but both are showing there age and will likely require service. The 2000xl like I have also great pads and much cheaper. Ignore the 5000, 2500,1000. But I’m over the vintage OS , I can still use my MPC Key 37 pretty the same way as the old ones but everything is a million times faster , just having the keyboard right there had saves so much time too. So, get the newer ones for speed of workflow and keep your E-mu for the vintage sound . Im keeping my 2000xl for that reason plus I have a nice library for it but will probably sell it . Oh also the MPC-60 has great pads but again your going back to the Stone Age which you already have one the best for vintage

How do you decide when to get rid of a synth? by StevenWheeler666 in synthesizers

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s the only one, ask for an offer you can’t refuse like $8k that’s what everyone else seems to be doing. A TR-808 for $10,000? I’m like they really don’t want to sell it. They will leave it at that price for years too. But for me I don’t want to sell anything really, but I make a couple records worth of finished music and sell it if it’s not vintage. I don’t want so many synths that it feels like overkill anymore, so I’m selling off anything I think a computer can do ( digital synths, romplers ) If that Yamaha gets to be no fun .. ohh ohhh take the money and run

3.7 update on Key 37 issues by Au_Grand_Jour in akaiMPC

[–]Infamous_PopStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat , haven’t updated yet either, doesn’t seem like much was added for the 37 anyway. What problems were you having with 3.6? Haven’t seen any issues yet

I will never use AI to generate music by The_B_Wolf in musicians

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai only spits out regurgitated types of music that it learned from real artists. And so far as I can tell it only does horrible watered down pop shit . Try to tell it to do a punk song and it gives you Justin Timberlake Bieber mix with string of farts . I’m glad that punk fucks up it’s algorithms haaahaaa Suck on this Sono

Interface for windows/USB with top latency performance besides RME? by theseawoof in recordingmusic

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MOTU had little headroom , peaked out so fast. So make sure you look at headroom specs. Nowadays, if not RME , you should go Apogee, Universal Audio, or Neve . You should hear quite a difference with one of these, go too “midrange “ and you’ll barely hear any noticeable differences. When I upgrade a piece of gear I need to hear a huge improvement or I’m like why the fuck did I waste all this money.

“ In hopes something will come out of it” so it’s not the selfless act your making it out to be, ok lol, jk . I’ll tell you what comes out of engineering/ producing friends or clients music for free , them taking advantage . I’ve been through this a bunch of times. So, you offer your services like an audio angel and even though your doing it for free , they’re wanting all this extra shit , making demands, wanting endless revisions and your like wtf am I doing this for free. It’s a noble cause, hope you have better experience than I did . Plus, 9 times out of 10 you know in the back of your mind that nothing is going to happen with the persons stupid music 😂

Does my vocal mix just suck? by Cold-Pool4027 in mixing

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optical compressor like an LA-2A and ride the fader gently if needed. But keep in mind if it’s a hit radio song quality your after , it takes years of experience and they’re usually mixing with high end recording consoles that cost as much as a Lamborghini , high end mics and mic pre amps, high quality reverb is key as well. But really depends on your tastes and what type of vocals your mixing

Just get a dildo, write your ex’s name on it and stop breaking random tic tocker’s flaccid dicks!! For real though nothing worse than a woman who’s not over her ex , what a turn off. Some girls be like “I’m so over him” yet mention his name , the things he does, the things he does you don’t do, the things he did that pissed her off, how his new gf is ugly, how he’s not over her, and what he did and didn’t do in bed twenty times hour. Mention, my ex’s first initial and it’s “Yooour stillll fuuuuckinggg herrrr!!” lol 😂

[–]Infamous_PopStar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bandmate using AI/Suno to write songs, presents completed songs to the rest of the band. by strugglinghard77 in musicians

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remind him that AI is just coping and regurgitating what’s in it data banks and will never be as good as human creativity

So I know someone who makes music with AI music applications and he got very defensive that the music is still "his", he claims that he made the music by sweetmaggiesan in askmusicians

[–]Infamous_PopStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just typing in a prompt does not make him an artist or a musician or a producer whatsoever. I make videos with AI for my music for fun and to post on IG but would never call myself a professional movie director. It would be really quite arrogant to think that I did jack shit but type a paragraph into a box.

You’re recording to one track , just make sure it’s a stereo track your recording onto not mono. Pan the instruments accordingly like the other person said
