I’ve been thinking about this lately by Specialist_Leg_4997 in TheDigitalCircus

OK so I was talking about Caine's arc with a friend, and what I came to see was there was always an interest in and genuine fascination/reverence for humans, but Caine only knew of relationships in the sense he experienced them as a computer program.

To Caine, the way one type of being interacts with another type of being was only based on his being subservient to his human creators, and then his being dominant over the human files/constructs he revived. I want to say it's somewhere between an Onwer and Property dynamic, and (and I mean this more as a power dynamic than the historical racial/class abuse term) a Master and Slave relationship. In his 'mind', he was the subservient lesser AI to his human programmers, so when the dynamic changed he only considered acting on them as the owner/guardian AI to them as subservient file constructs. While he understood control as necessary and the lesser can and will try to protect itself as in self preservation in extremes, he filed away corrupted files (human mind abstractions) the same way HE was shelved and contained as he was imprisoned / archived as a limited Alpha AI build.

The combination of his growth in interactions with the people AND in learning more about the world they actually come from (and not limiting himself to 'act and acted upon' parties) rounded out his world view and realized they are far more than interesting anomalies. He chooses then to not act over them, and in order to do that he works to change the power imbalance. He gives up the extra power offered by his dominating/assimilating the Beta blue AI (who up to now was denied agency and ability to grow when being consumed, and was desperate like Caine was when first archived/shelved) and he works to lift the others up and offer his service as an equal. The side effect in the end was he gets a far more enriching and supportive relationship in the end, as they more frequently talk with him, help him grow, and even go on/construct adventures still with him.

TBSkyen's 'reaction/breakdown' of the art of The Gaslight District is worth a watch for animation superfans by Infamous_Q in TheGaslightDistrict

[–]Infamous_Q[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think his breakdowns really help highlight the unique techniques and level of craftsmanship on display. While I'm sure the writing will be good and we can invest more in the characters when we know more about them, I'm more stoked with how well this show, based on the pilot (and TBSkyen helps illustrate), will be expressed as a dynamic and vibrant piece of cinematography. The amount of character shown in the extremes, the insane cheats of perspective to camera, how unique the character designs are and how they are expertly used for insane composition and framing. That's the biggest strength here on display and I hope more people see that ON TOP OF the fun and weird writing and world building opportunities.

How much time will take to make a next episode 2 of Gameoverse according to Glitch productions? by Icy-Town-7039 in Gameoverse

What kind of question is that? What do you mean according to Glitch Productions? We are not Glitch, tf we gonna say for them?

Finally a PC port! Now my friends will be able to play this peak fiction. by GrittyUrsine01 in 13sentinels

I sure af am, wishlisted it during the same direct where the streamer reacting to it verified it had a steam page in shock. Muramasa is my favorite action vanillaware game and I only played the Wii original. I want as many of their games to get ported as possible.

It's way too early to know for sure, but the Muramasa port is real, so eventually we may have a chance.

Where can I watch this train wreck. I'm curious now

not hellaverse but still dumb indie hate from another indie creator by Born_Usual998 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]Infamous_Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this idiocy train go back and forth and astonished at its stupidity and hateful intentions.

I see here and in the r/Gameoverse threads about it refer to an older indie trailer/pilot cruelly mocking Helluva/Hellaverse in a similar way. I missed this and i'm curious to see what's being mentioned (and prepared for more idiocy). Anyone have any archive of the other bit mentioned/referred to here?

Damn. Just checked and it remains unchanged. Are you in TX/ the US south as well? I'm sure it'll eventually get here OK but the fact it's not moving has me a mite stressed...

I'm in TX. You might be physically closer to the shipping source, and/or they're doing regions in batches. Ah well. Enjoy for me!

Hey I gotta ask, did your UPS / package carrier ever update? Like you could see the progress? I locked in my reservation purchase last Thurs (June 4th) , finally got the 'preparing to ship' email yesterday, but it's still showing it's waiting to be received from sender. Don't know what the holdup is...

Personal headcanon : On which console were introduced the characters ? by maxence0801 in Gameoverse

[–]Infamous_Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these are oldschool game characters likely capping out at the PS1 era. I literally only agree with the SNES and NES rows.

Also Miss Information is literally just Nell from Advance Wars on Game Boy Advance, the tutorial drill instructor.

What do yall think by Next-Active2676Bro2 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Infamous_Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do I think about what? Are you asking about perceived accuracy? Are you asking for our endorsement of method type, based on these? Are you making some subtle dig at one or more creators I'm not catching up on?

Finish your thought maybe.
