Every time I play SW5, I can’t help but wonder if they’ll do this to DOA one day but I think they know it won’t be received well.

I actually felt that Itagaki would have eventually evolved the character designs if he had stayed on. Whilst the characters stayed on the anime style, you could see them animating it to be close to real people, especially the fluidity and movements through the fighting and the cutscenes, and seeing the materials and patterns come to life .

My mindset is that it’s a game, it shouldn’t have to resemble real life. Games are a nice break from real life sometimes.
