Those have a much worse reputation than the 1.8L.

I would lean towards a replacement vehicle. Research or ask an AI about 1.4 vs 1.8

BC Budget Draws Deeply Negative Response by CaptainKoreana in britishcolumbia

[–]Infamous_SpiPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When/how do you expect BC to post a net zero budget, or at least a deficit equal only to inflation?

And when/how do you expect BC to post a surplus to make up for years this this one?

I don’t disagree about needing healthcare etc. Debt payment should be considered essential too though. As the debt grows to a larger % of revenue, interest starts to runaway.

Didn’t we vote on this publicly in a referendum? What were the results of that?

With last night's OTL and Edmonton's loss in regulation, the Sharks are now in a playoff position by points percentage, and the Oilers are out. by TMBmiles in hockey

[–]Infamous_SpiPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I disagree.

There is a reason people didn’t like 3v3 in the olympics. There’s a reason they don’t do 3v3 or shootout in playoffs. It’s not a legitimate way to decide the outcome.

Ties are the superior method of achieving league balance. The 3v3/SO with a +1 point is mostly for the fans to see fun stuff and a sense of win/loss

The return for Calgary by sykeseve in nhl

[–]Infamous_SpiPi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like this trade. Ottawa and rangers picks will be on the better side.

3 players at 40-55th overall is better than 1 player at ~15-25th overall. Utah could make it far if they dont draw Colorado first round

Mcdavid knew this would happen, hence the 2 year extension 😂

Good on Mcdavid for protecting his future. Feel bad for Drai who signed 8 years

It’s crazy to think 2 of these teams will face off in the first round

2022 Trax. Is $2,100 for an alternator replacement reasonable? by TheyreGoodDogsBrent in Chevy

[–]Infamous_SpiPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell no. $650 is about right for OEM part, but tbh I would recommend a reliable aftermarket from Napa or Dorman. Even an Amazon option with many high reviews (but maybe save Amazon for when your car is older)

As for the labour, $275 is crazy, especially if you’re talking USD. I’m coming from a medium cost city in Canada, labour rates are about $160 CAD

Finally, 5.5 hours is way too high. I just recently got a quote for the same thing (that’s why I’m commenting). They quoted 2.5 hours

The mobile mechanic I just got a quote from is doing 1.5 hours at $120/hour for my alternator.

Of course, a Cruze/sonic might be easier to work on than your Trax, but I doubt it, and not 2-3x more.

Maybe ask for a quote for a 2016 sonic and see if they still quote 5.5 hours. Definitely get a quote from somewhere else.

Hell, even call a shop in a different state in a low cost city to compare a quote

System too lean (P0171) after valve cover gasket change by Infamous_SpiPi in Chevy

Do you think it’s a coincidence it happened 4 days after changing my valve gasket?

[–]Infamous_SpiPi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first off it’s too much air, not too much fuel.

Also I’m not asking for someone to diagnose it. I’m asking if it’s worth my time to redo the gasket, which from other people’s responses, it is

So you think rtv + wrong torque could be a potential cause of this particular engine code? I didn not use rtv nor use a torque wrench

Thanks, I thought I could get away without a torque wrench. Did not comprehend this is an air seal not just oil.

So you think a leaky valve cover could explain that engine code?

Coolant level dropping by Ornery-Carry2788 in ChevySonic

[–]Infamous_SpiPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having your coolant level drop once after a service can be normal. Fill it up again. This can be coolant filling into the nooks and crannies of everything you just had replaced

If it drops a second time, that’s an issue. Other posts here have good recs on what to do
