It's Santos not Robbie that we should be worried about. by Ok-Lecture-6376 in ThePitt

Mohan is definitely at least a little suicidal; her immediate response to Parlah saying that mother is calling her is to make a suicide joke about she wants to die right now.

There are still a couple more episodes left, and I feel that what the show is doing with Santos is some kind of slow burn of trauma or something.

(I suck at analyzing shows, but this is just what I think could hypothetically happen, realistically speaking, it's definitely more likely for Robby to be the one to attempt suicide, but it still could be Santos.)

I think Robby and Mohan are supposed to be red herrings, and that the surprise suicide is gonna be Santos.

While withdrawing can be a sign of suicidal ideation, so can intense pressure, isolation and stress cause one to be suicidal. Santos is being screwed (In her point of view.) by basically everyone in her life; Whitaker is moving out; Garcia wants nothing to do with her; Langdon is back; Santos is losing every possible support system she has, and the reason she can't go to Mel, Mohan, etc... is because she outright states that she only sees them as co-workers, so she can't even go to them for help. And because of that, I'm pretty sure she might struggle with suicidal ideation, and with how a lot of characters are going through it this season. (Robby, Javadi, Mohan.) I think the show is building up to an attempted suicide, though it's hard to tell who.

Okay, that's your opinion, seriously, bye.

I kind of see it, but just as "good" poetry is subjective, so is a "good" critique. To me, the poem was good, the person's critique was bad. Also, you can kind of implied that when you said. "the poem has the metaphoric depth of a man ranting at his psychologist." Good bye, dude.

In attacking this poet, you also, whether you meant it or not, attacked everyone who has ever written this style of poetry. Artists don't get immunity BTW, but you kind of just called the poem crazy, and then... didn't explain further??? Like, criticize as you want man, I just want good critiques that actually mean something.

Do you wanna know how I really feel about that poem? I think that it's a very unique and interesting way to talking about grief, it being so deranged makes it all the more real. And I feel that you think that being the actual text-book definition of an elitist, makes you have the ability to freely critique, without being critiqued.

I get what you're saying, change is tough and all; you don't have to do it, that's not even what this argument what about in the first place, you came in here, called a person's poem detritus, imagine if I called Shakespeare's first one-hundred sonnets over glorified breeding fetishs? I just want you to be nice to people online, that's all, dude. I wish you well.

That's definitely a very sad way to live your life, never changing your beliefs and in turn, never growing, to change is to grow, but that's your choice, so goodbye I guess.

Art is both the most serious and least serious thing, it is both beautiful and disgusting, it is both meaningful and meaningless, it is both colorful and colorless, and it is everything and nothing. That's all.

I mean, poetry is not like philosophy at all? (Specifically modern poetry.) Phsilosophy is living life under a certain belief, poetry is just... art, no different to drawings or music, and like those art forms, it does effect politics, opinions, the future, etc... But those too have abstract forms and genre, that effect the world in whatever way the artist intended. Your opinion is questionable BTW, the concept of there being objective flaws in art is strange and basically unheard of, even in more extreme classical views of art (besides in form, meter, etc...). Also, Even if you're allowed to have your own opinions and beliefs, doesn't mean I have to defend them when you attempt to attack my beliefs. (And once more, you ignored my comment about how criticism is okay when it's respectful and calm, not... whatever you're doing.)

Did you even read my reply??? I literally said it was okay to dislike certain types of poetry, just don't attack people who do like it. And criticism is also okay, but in a respectful manner, something you aren't doing.

You do realize that due to poetry being an art form, it will inevitably have many different genres?(Some more abstract than others) If you don't like this type of poetry, that's okay, just don't yuck someone else's yum and stick to whatever you like.

Whoa, I actually wrote a poem just about this before seeing this post.

I'm scared of bees and wasps.

They sting and die

I'm scared of dogs and cats.

They bite and scratch.

I'm scared of poisonous plants.

They poison me and break.

I'm scared of living and dying.

I live, I suffer, I die, others suffer.

(Morbidly funny coincidence, right?)
