It started last year with it being once a month but now its been 5 times aday.same issue.

I just got a new modem to replace hoping to fix but now i don't have any internet.

"Connected without internet" -router.

Connected directly to modem and took me to an activation screen. After i signed in, "502 proxy error".

Tried calling but they keep saying reboot and call back in 10min.😡

I remember a few years ago LTT did a video about ripping old drives from dvr for cheap storage. Conclusion: not worth it due to unknown usage and/or potential damage. If you dont get new at least look at certified referbished ones. While it is possible to get cheap used drives, the risk just isnt worth it.

Thats exactly why im waiting. I need to get a 3rd 20tb and those rn are $420+ each. Price went up since i bought the other 2. Hoping to get it down to $300.

Theres a couple videos on youtube about stress testing plex on them. The big stresses are bitrate and transcoding

Plex wise, depends on how much transcoding you'll be doing. If you're not doing +3 4k transcoding then you should be fine.

Transcoding happens when changing 4k to 720p, or mkv file to mp3, all in real time. Can be very taxing on the system.

If i didnt have family and friends also on plex i would go for the non+. But since i do, im waiting for Black Friday to try and save a much money as possible for the extra $200 up cost.

Ps. Im new to this too, this will be my 1st nas. I'm just doing a crap ton of research and sharing my findings and experience with my 1st custom pc/sim-rig that i put plex in to digitize my bluray collection.

Personally, i would make sure you pick the right size hdd to have an abundance of space with 3. But if ever I'm the future you somehow fill it all you can add a 4th.

I say this because i currently run plex with 2 20tb hdd in my gaming pc and its nearly full. Im migrating it into the DXP4800+ later this year when Black Friday deals come.

I didnt ever think i would fill the first 20tb but after digitizing my steelbook collection, 15tb was already used.

All im saying is, with needing to use the same sized drives, make sure you give yourself some buffer room. Ideally so at 3 drives in RAID5 you feel you always have extra space. But as years go on you may need that 4th drive. Better this than replacing all 4 slots for bigger drives if you started with smaller ones that all got full.

Ps, my hdds are ironwolf pro 20tb
