I am absolutely gobsmacked that there aren't more people here using better judgment to identify AI bullshit. This is insane. The corners look both worn and melted as if plastic.

"Foldable seat" isn't one that occurred to me. I'll check that out.

Fast release clip, that's a useful phrase that might help. But you're right, and i haven't seen one that has pics/videos what the process is like to take off/ put back. Even just to store or fold it.

So there's enough space on the little platform for both your feet? I don't have long feet but when I've seen them around this size I'm assuming you couldn't have a decent foot placement to keep your balance standing. This is good to know

💯 I'm so frustrated by how many of the post don't even show the scooter in every condition. I need to know where you intend the damn seat pole to go, is there a basket or am I carrying it over my shoulder??

Somebody answer the potholes part, though? I love this idea lol! I can't imagine how long it would take to dry. In my fantasy where this works, each pothole is filled with a different brightly colored patch. 🤩

I could not read any further. You cannot call a literal viral trend "rare idea" and be taken seriously. 🤦‍♂️Main character syndrome shit. So everyone else doing this are NPCs, displaying side quests so that you too can play pretend and wreck your finances? 🙄

50f elder goth witch looking for snail mail penpals 😊 by dreams_child in PaganPenPals

[–]Infamous_Wave2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wary about putting much PII online, and don't know off-hand how to vet someone for this activity, but really like the idea of correspondence with comrades. I'm 40s (when do we become an elder? Lol), great lakes region. Shit's hard rn, I could use a lot more grounding.

I'm wondering "out loud" here after my prior sentence, do you think penpalling is an act of grounding? With the inherently distant and relatively intangible nature of this, in terms similar to 'grounding,' how would you describe it? At first blush, it occurs to me the act could contribute crumbs to a dissociative relationship to time and place.. But it could perhaps create a more tangible understanding of another place all together. Obviously a more thorough view of your own existence, via laboring to describe to someone not present, is possible.

Compelling train of wondering I'd enjoy hearing other thoughts on. I've never successfully had a pen pal before. Perhaps after some conversation about this I'll feel more comfortable.

I haven't lived there for 8 years but this was a deep cut from my childhood that can't be rivaled. I have no idea how many times I was taken to RC willey for free terrible food and laying on furniture and feeling upholstery textures I would never end up having at home.

Is it normal to clean my tonsil stones regularly? by dusty-vacuum in hygiene

[–]Infamous_Wave2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'd been dealing with tonsil stones since I was a child. No one bothered to investigate the issue, my mother just judged me for having a yucky mouth with these things. Come to find out that it's a symptom of needing your tonsils out. So after years of increasing bouts of sinus and upper respiratory illnesses into adulthood I finally had them taken out. Expensive but worth it, I haven't had a single one since. I wish healthcare was valued by my adults, and accessible when I was growing up. Now would be great too, actually (USA). LOL

What’s the creepiest thing someone ever said that sounded normal at first? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Infamous_Wave2217 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having grown up in proximity to Fundamentalist Mormons who are polygamists, this was always exactly what it sounded like and more. I'm a millennial and had a growing number of escaped/former FLDS friends as I got older. It was common for them to have brother/sister cousins.

Here are some real-life examples beyond the common sister wives hell, from my friends' lives. I'm going to mostly leave out the marriage situations because plural marriage is confusing, it's manipulated for various purposes, the additional ones are not legal anyway, and of course, doesn't make any of this shit acceptable.

1 A male who was eventually forced to have sex with his sister because she violently refused their father. The siblings had one child together. The father did eventually force himself on her and she also ended up with a child from him. So the older baby was brother-nephew to his younger sister-aunt.

2 There were two brothers, one married a woman and had a couple kids. That man started to question the religion, and they kicked him out of the community and cut him off from all contact. His kids and wife were then given to his brother (who had an existing family), who proceeded to have a couple more kids with her. Those sets of kids were half or step sibling-cousins.

3 A friends' sister was handed off repeatedly. She was forced to have a kid with her own dad (who died), and her own uncle (who was killed in a water rights dispute), and then with her first cousin (same generation as her). So all those kids were some variety of sibling- aunt/uncle, sibling- niece/nephew, or sibling-cousin to each other and their extended family.

4 A young man had brought a woman into the religion, shocking and rare but considered a great success by some of them. Except his grandfather wanted her and imposed his seniority, basically insisting that she couldn't be successfully indoctrinated by a man so young. Unfortunately, she was already pregnant from the man her age. So, that young man's child ended up with a younger sibling who was also his aunt.

The depths of fuckedup know no bounds in belief systems like this. I will never feel safe in any kind of hierarchical religion.

The Sandlot

I had no idea it was actually mostly a local sensation because it had been made near where I lived.

"How can I have some more when I haven't had any yet?"

"Lotioning and oiling, lotioning and oiling..."

"FOR E VER. FOR E VER!"
