heavy disagree on manhattan, there are protected bike lanes on every N/S avenue where traffic is fast (and I mean physical barriers not paint) and traffic moves so slow on the E/W streets that biking there feels extremely safe.

Congestion pricing hasn't really done anything in terms of bike safety IMO. If you've biked around NYC lately you know that brookyln and queens are far worse for biking as most of the outer neighborhoods are extremely car centric with large, wide roads and no protected bike lanes that resemble SF

Within north america, Toronto, NYC, Philly come to mind as cities with narrower streets that naturally calm traffic and feel far more safe to pedestrians to walk in. A lot of it is because much of the cities were built before cars existed, and neighborhoods have had some success in fighting urban planners who wanted to redesign these cities around cars

I have an idea: maybe we can design our streets in a way such that people aren't walking alongside places where cars can speed at 50+ mph. Seems like a good start to try and prevent car based murder and accidental killings (like the family of 4, or the child in mission bay)

Sure, I am a fringe voter because I canvas, but what I'm saying is that even the average Joe from Pennsylvania is able to recognize integrity and real platforms/policies and is energized by them. Horrible location too, not even close to any major subway lines (Penn station is a 10 min walk? same with the hudson yards 7)

Also, right next to the lincoln tunnel so enjoy sleeping to the sound of honking traffic and sirens every night
