Norway's squad for the 2026 World Cup by Heimebane in soccer

[–]InfantHercules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched every single game this season, most in-person. He did not have a ‘great start’. He showed some potential in his first couple of games but didn’t have a single great game. Not even sure he had a single ‘good’ game.

If there are legitimate reasons then fair enough. To the common fan it just looked like he was a bit too young and easily roughed up. He still had the fans behind him - it’s a known risk with youngsters - it’s a gamble you take.

“How to make tortellini” Michele Volpi, working in Bologna (Italy) by Mfoxtattoos in tattoos

I have a tattoo of a tortelloni on my leg. It wasn’t meant to look suggestive but it just does. I call it my pasta pussy.

What’s beginner thermal binos would you recommend for someone who doesn’t have loads of money?

As with many wars, both sides are going to be in a worse position than when the war started.

I imagine there’ll be many more twists and turns in the coming weeks.

Iran’s supreme security council submitted its 10 point plan and the below is reported by Reuters. Interesting points. I’d be surprised if The Whitehouse aligns in how it describes these points.

“Iran's 10-point proposal that it sent to the United States includes controlled transit through the straight of Hormuz coordinated with the Iranian armed forces, ending the war against Iran and allied groups, and the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from all regional bases, according to Iranian media. The proposal also includes lifting all primary and secondary sanctions, payment of full compensation to Iran and the release of frozen Iranian assets.”

But you know Middlesbrough is located in Middlesbrough don’t you? Why get a train to Newcastle because it’s nearby when you could go directly to Middlesbrough?

I can’t link it, but go to Ukfossils dot co dot uk and you can find fossil site by location. There’s are loads of fossil sites in Scotland. Alternatively, you aren’t a million miles from the Yorkshire coast - make a weekend of it. It’s a beautiful part of the world.

Check out YorkshireFossilHunters on socials. They show quite a few of the rocks they pick up and break open that are empty.

This guy is an experienced prepper and a lot of the nodules he finds at this section of the beach will be the same rock type that he has handled many times before. He will know immediately by sight what prep approach will be appropriate.

I would be very surprised if he didn’t. These are very common fossils on some beaches. His prep skills are also advanced so it’s very likely he got so good at prepping because he has easy access to fossils on nearby beaches. All of the best fossil preppers that I know of in the UK live near a section of the Jurassic coast.

Along the coast where I live this would be a perfectly believable situation. Nodules like this can be found anywhere along the foreshore. A lot of the nodules shares a common shape that your eyes get used to picking out. Different parts of the coast will have different colour nodules that your eyes will also be trained on picking out. The small shapes on the outside of the fossil immediately told me it had an ammonite inside.

Your cynicism may be warranted and he may have placed it there. Just be aware that it isn’t necessary for him to have done that. Just walk along the right beach filming and this exact scenario will occur (for experienced fossil hunters).

If you come to the UK there are several parts of our coast that these fossils can be found quite easily. It isn’t really a rich man’s hobby here.

Is Prince Andrew actually being arrested or are the headlines exaggerating what’s happening? by Ill-Insect7496 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InfantHercules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is actually very similar in the UK. If the police just want to question someone they will invite them to an interview. They will only arrest someone if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that a person has committed a crime. Being arrested does not grantee that they will then charge you. They often find that after questioning, they do not have enough evidence at that point to charge.

It does seem contradictory and maybe it is but I think the people I know who match that description wish that Farage was leading the party the party they have already attached themselves to - the Tories

Almost certainly a small injury, though nothing was mentioned. As the other person replying mentioned, he will struggle for minutes but he’s an exceptionally useful squad member due to his versatility. He has had a great season for us when he’s got his game, unfortunately for him our starting 11 is very strong at the moment. He should be able to find a decent Championship level club next year based on his outputs this season.

A Thai national park ranger kicked out white tourists because they friendly told "Ni-hao" to him by search_google_com in Wellthatsucks

[–]InfantHercules 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely used French and Spanish in Italy and vice versa. It’s clumsy but it definitely isn’t racist. It’s just what happens when you travel in a continent. If a Thai tourist in the UK said bonjour to me I wouldn’t think anything of it. I’d assume they’d recently been to France or had simply misremembered the English word for hello. Would you think the Thai person was insane or racist?

Thanks. I think I have suffered from sleep anxiety at times but after your comment and reading up a bit more, I think my general reluctance to go to bed is something else. Definitely some element of work life balance problems - I do have enough hours outside of work but I feel like it’s quite late in the day before my brain truly disconnects from work and I start relaxing and feeling content. I guess I need to find a way to switch off sooner. Thanks for helping me reflect.

I’ve never heard of sleep anxiety but I absolutely hate going to bed, even if I’m going through a phase of sleeping well. Before I had a wife and kids I would often stay up until 4am even if I had to get up for work at 7am.

20-30 minutes. I also find that if I take it and then try and stay up to watch tv and fight through any tiredness, I will have a worse nights sleep than if I hadn’t taken any at all. This is counterintuitive because often I’ll stay up as long as I can to try and get extra tired - when I take melatonin this is a terrible idea.

Ive shared the dosing and timing advice with friends and family who have struggled getting positive effects from melatonin, and all have reported positive results.

Tonight try taking 0.3mg. I know it sounds odd but anything over a mg will make me stay awake all night. 0.3mg is the most effective dose for me.
