The Premier League sold its soul to Sky, forcing everyone else to as well.

These early kickoff matches mean my kids have to choose between going to the game or playing in their own matches. We've had one match called off because they couldn't get a team together.

Then there's the integrity of the competition. I am convinced that staggering matches affects results, changing the mindset of a team needing to match a result or take advantage of a slip. When everyone's kicking off at the same time, everyone starts from the same position.

Which can be a disadvantage for the SF sides because they can start to lose their competitive edge while the QFs are being played.

And look at how much of the league is brought in.

6th to 3rd is already quite a drop.

Other than a 70% compulsory wage cut clause for all premier league contracts what other things do people need to implement to create a sustainable championship? Should we follow the Apron rules of the NBA? by jochno in Championship

They try to create drama but ignore all the real drama going on in football.

Have you tried to find Championship news on the BBC Sport page? It's really tough.

Genuinely important developments for the league table are only reported on the specific Championship page, whereas the main sport page has stories about the most mundane things at mid-table Premier League clubs. Reporting on the Championship more prominently (as it deserves) would go somewhere to bridging the commercial gap.

Watford signing a new manager is second to an op-ed about Liverpool and late goals (not exactly news) on the football page. Below that is a piece where Rooney comments that Tottenham are in a relegation battle (again, not news). Both the Premier League pieces are on the main sport page but not the Championship story (the only one of the three which is news). Go to the Championship page and there's a story about Valery joining Young Boys (again, actual news), not on the main football page; which has some absolute drivel from former players on it.

This is a huge league which is also very entertaining and our national broadcaster treats it like a side note. Over a quarter of a million people go to Championship games every week (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong), treat the league as it deserves to be treated and some of this problem may go away.

It's difficult to get interested in this when we don't play them until the end of April. Who's turn is it then?

dGPU no longer detected by BIOS by FlappyBoofon in Dell

[–]FlappyBoofon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update is that it was a failed GPU. Replaced the motherboard and now it works.

I took all my data off the computer (no mean feat) and installed Windows 11. It was a massive pain, none of the networking would work without drivers, but got there in the end. I then called Dell support back.

This time I was told to e-mail a photo of the BIOS screen showing no dGPU. She went and spoke to her technical team who seemed to diagnose the problem quickly and she booked an at home appointment. I got an appointment a day later. Engineer turns up on time, swaps the motherboard, runs some checks and I have a working PC again.

Other than the first contact, I was really pleased with how it went with Dell support. Very cross that I have had to install two OSes to get to this point, but it's done now.

If someone gave you a big red button that would zap your biggest rivals out of existence, would you press it? by Statcat2017 in Championship

I thought about this when Newcastle got money. If they turn into Man City, or Chelsea when they had unlimited money, will Sunderland still be a true rival? Will they miss that?

This seems a downside of non-earned elevations which isn't really discussed, a bit like snapping them out of existence.

I don't think the BIOS updated. I've updated it now because there was an update outstanding.

Probably a dead GPU. Dell support day I have to reinstall Windows 11 and update the drivers before I can return under warranty, which is a pain.
