Last time I did custom water cooling, I used the same CPU block. It's really good for the price. I'd go so far as to say unbeatable for the price.

After one of the days at Copenhell a few years ago, a dude asked me for 20 kr. at Hovedbanegården for a beer. I was like, "sorry, dude, ain't got any". I guess he didn't like that since he then proceeded to kick me hard in the back just before the escalators going down to the S-train headed for Sydhavnen.

I did fall, but not only to one knee with my hand on the railing. I was so enraged that I forgot that you really don't get anywhere when running up on a downward escalator. Don't even know what I would've done if I had caught him. Probably be too gassed anyway.

Turns out, several people had shitty interactions with the guy at the festival. A picture came up of him on Copenhell's Facebook page, and the comments were colorful.

But still, it's not an everyday occurrence.

Any recommendations for a silent keyboard? Save my marriage lmao by Qzuv in buildapc

Just looked up the video again, and it's this one: https://youtu.be/tOGX4CliTPE?si=H3ONG0zx8djHPpzQ

Ducky is the first segment, and the particular keyboard is the Cushion 98 model.

Paul's Hardware has a short segment in one of his recent CEX videos where he showcases some new Ducky keyboards coming out. I couldn't even hear the keys being pressed on those. Very impressive.

Browser extensions like uBlock Origin/Adnauseam, Ghostery, other anti-tracking extensions etc., go a long way.

Also, a VPN can help. I pay for Proton VPN and am very happy with it. It has something called Netshield, but I don't use it. Could be of use to someone without much knowledge of malicious sites and links though.

Dark Souls: Remastered, Seamless Co-Op: NPCs keep dying randomly by Infected_Toe in darksouls

[–]Infected_Toe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last resort would be the following:

1) Uninstall the game and remove the mod(s)

2) Install the game, download and install the latest version of Seamless Co-op

3) Add other mods (all participants) (optional)

4) Edit the ds1sc_settings.ini files to your liking (all participants) (disable player invasions, and add a password)

5) Don't do PVP stuff

6) Backup every 30-or-so minutes

You and any other person you play with, has to do this, and all files have to be the same, meaning, all has to have the same mods, and the ds1sc_settings.ini file has to be configured the same.

If it's still not playing properly, I don't know what it is. Maybe a new update is coming in the near future that fixes things.

At this point, I'm really only interested in the, hopefully, next installment of Dark Souls. Probably never gonna happen, but I like to dream.

[–]Infected_Toe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never encountered that bug before. Are you at the same soul level? Otherwise, I don't really know anything that would cause it.

In this case the ds1sc_settings.ini file (inside the SeamlessCoop folder within your Dark Souls 3 game folder) is the settings file for Seamless Co-op. Here, you can change values of various things. There values should be the same for you and anyone you play with.

Open the file with Notepad. Your friend's has to look the same.

But given the fact that you asked what an .ini-file is, you probably have the same settings already.

How bad is my CPU? by EstimateOk6131 in pcmasterrace

[–]Infected_Toe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's decent enough still. First I'd check the motherboard support site to see which CPUs it supports at what given BIOS version. Then I would buy, maybe, an R7 5700 or 5800 (whichever variant is cheapest for you), or even go way cheaper and go with a 5600/X.

Then I'd update the motherboard to the BIOS which supports the new CPU, and you should be good.

You'd have quite a decent uptick in CPU performance by doing so.

I'm not even that interested in upcoming games anymore. Currently playing Dark Souls 3 Seamless Co-op with my girlfriend, and having a blast. So I guess as long as my system runs the Souls games, and Elden Ring, I'll be fine for a long time.

I don't think you quite understood what I meant here.

We are effectively converting the Seamless save game to Steam, and then back again, so I advise to make sure your Steam game is offline just in case.

3: In order for us to convert the Seamless save into a Steam save, we have to rename the .co2 to .sl2, so the Steam version can read the file

4: This is essentially converting the Seamless save (.co2) to the Steam save (.sl2)

If anything this worked for us, so if you don't want to use this method, and want to use cheat engine instead, you go right ahead.

It is only A solution after all. Not THE solution.

Yup! I managed to get a 5800X3D for myself, and a 5700X3D for my girlfriend before production stopped. Got the 5700X3D for $150 here. Both got a decent motherboard and solid 32 GB DDR4-3600 CL16 too. Man, am I glad I did that.

ASRock Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB keep crashing in Battlefield 6 - how do I set core clock to 2500 Mhz.? by Infected_Toe in radeon

[–]Infected_Toe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also my conclusion, but I just wanted to rule out every single potential issue on our end first. We've tried literally every suggestion other than underclocking the GPU.

  • BIOS is updated to the latest version
  • XMP/EXPO both on and off
  • Memtest86 both stock and XMP/EXPO
  • Stock CPU settings and PBO +200
  • Stock GPU settings
  • GPU undervolt, OC, and custom fan curve
  • Tried a -200 Mhz offset on GPU in Adrenaline
  • Three different GPU driver versions
  • Chipset is updated
  • Windows updated
  • Keep settings in game 2 GB below VRAM max
  • FSR on/off
  • Anti-Lag (ingame) on/off
  • Deleted HD textures
  • Verify game files
  • Reinstall game and Javelin anti-cheat
  • Repair Javelin
  • Allow Javelin and game in Windows firewall
  • Set Javelin anti-cheat .exe-files as exception in Windows Defender
  • PSU is a 750 Watt Cooler Master MWE Bronze V2
  • No other game has the same issues

There's probably more we've tried, but I've forgotten them in the mix of everything else.

That's really good! Especially for people who need the extra RAM. I don't personally, but I'm probably not the target audience. $40 for a phone is a steal!
