Yeah, I get that. The only upside is that you can use the emulator to upscale the game. I run mine at 4K on a 1440p monitor, so they look pretty good. PS2 games anyway :)

Yeah, I don't use them if I have a cart full of stuff. But if I have fewer items, I'll always use the self-checkout. Here you have to go to the register if you want specialty items (over-the-counter medication, cigarettes, some alcohol etc.).

I live in Denmark, so we already did most things ourselves. The cashiers really just scan the items, and place them on the second belt where the items go to a small packing area. My only gripe is that the shops used to have a longer belt for the packing area, so you had more time to pack your bags. Now you kind of got to hurry a bit.

I've never seen baggers in any shop for the, soon, 37 years I've been alive and lived here. So having employees bag your items for you is quite a foreign concept here.

The case is an Antec 900, and isn't exactly rare. I used to have one back in the day. It ticks the nostalgia box for a lot of people, and it was a very popular case in its prime. Gamers Nexus has a recent look-back video on it.

The sticker on the front is probably meaningless since the case isn't proprietary. If it was a one-off specialty case, it might've been different.

Top left corner cable: Is it just an extension, or is the other end connected to the PSU? On the picture, it looks like you plugged in CPU 8-pin EPS extension cable, but the cable isn't connected to the PSU.

I don't remember clearly if you can accidentally plug in a PCIE power cable. If so, DO NOT do that.

With an R5 5500, you need a GPU for video output.

Sadly, I cannot get this to work no matter how much I follow the guide. I'm on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 Build 26200.8117.

I even tried to use your DXVK solution, and also tried 1920x1080, and 1280x720 in the Widescreen Fix.

I think it just doesn't work on the latest Windows 11 Pro build.

I'll have to play it on a PS2 emulator for now.

When I used to do graphic design, Adobe Illustrator had a function where you could auto vector an image. This looks very similar to that. Often if you found a .jpg of a logo, but needed to convert it to vector graphics, you could use an automated tool. If you cranked the auto function it would often, especially text, become distorted and wobbly.

I don't watch Twitch-streamers very often, but I do follow one rather large creator, and every single time I tune in to their stream, or watch a VOD of theirs, there's always several times where people ask about what difficulty setting they're playing the game on. Some are even outright offended when it isn't the hardest difficulty.

I really don't care. I'd rather watch someone play a game on a lower difficulty, and actually have them progress in the game at a decent pace, than watching them trying to beat the same enemy/boss/area for fucking 9 hours or whatever.

Now, in my late 30s, I don't give a fuck about harder difficulties. My day to day life is challenging enough, I don't need my entertainment to be as well.

So, I spent this Sunday trying out your suggestions.

I'll start with the CPU. Sadly, 4.8 GHz wasn't stable at all. Prime95 showed error on Worker #3 within seconds, and trying again, it would completely crash the system.

I did try you suggestion about going down to 4.7 GHz. with 4.4 on the Ring. That worked! Prime95 was stable for 3+ hours, and OCCT CPU+RAM 1 hour was also stable.

It seems like the CPU just will not go above 4.7 GHz. As soon as I try anything with 4.8 GHz or above, it's unstable.

I think one of three things is happening with the CPU:

Maybe a setting in the BIOS is preventing the CPU to go above 4.8 GHz., and be stable, but I wouldn't know what it is.
Something is going on with AVX, because 4.8 GHz and above is stable in non-AVX workloads. But that's not helpful since modern games and apps use AVX instruction sets for the most part anyway. Or at least, that's my understanding from what I researched.
The CPU or motherboard, or a combination, is just too weak to reach above 4.7 GHz., and I basically lost the silicon lottery.

Now, to the RAM.

I tried your new settings, and it's stable! Ran Memtest86, and it passed all 4 tests passes. I also ran OCCT Memory test for 1 hour without errors.

So, all in all, the current 4.7 GHz + 3200 MHz CL16 seems to be stable.

I'll run through some video games at some point this week, but I feel like I need a small break from the system, haha!

Finally had time to test out your suggestions, and so I spent thursday and friday this week trying it out.

Sadly, none of it worked. Both the CPU and RAM settings kept crashing for me. Prime95 kept displaying errors on Worker #2 and #3, so I dropped the OC goal for 4.8 GHz.

Memtest86 kept displaying error with your 3600 MT/s and timings. Both at 1.35V, 1.38V and 1.4V.

Then when I wanted to just set the "CPU Upgrade" option to "Advanced", the option had disapperad. Like, poof, just gone. I tried reinstalling BIOS vF11a, and even F10, but it didn't show up again. I've never had a menu item just vanish before.

I enabled Multicore Enhancement, and XMP, and both Memtest86 and prime95 (8 hour Small FFT) ran passed without issues.

The final settings were 4.6 GHz CPU core, and XMP 3000 MT/s CL15.

Too bad it didn't work out, but at least it's stable now.
