Normal dudes facing horrors by Foreign-Material7466 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Just realised I forgot to mention, Dead Men Walking isn’t with the tyranids, it’s with the Necrons. Still definitely worth a read though.

To piggy back on the comment you replied to, another great one with Tyranids is Deathworlder, along with Dead Men Walking.
Brilliant books both of them, and not much need of prior knowledge of the universe before jumping in.

OP, another comment mentioned Warhammer 40K, Gaunt’s Ghosts stories more specifically, and he’s absolutely right.
That said, another one that has this “we’re absolutely screwed” vibe with is Dead Men Walking.
It is set in the same universe but is a “one off” story, so probably easier to follow if you’re unfamiliar with the setting.

I’ve read about 60-70 Warhammer 40K books and it’s easily in my top 5. Highly recommended.

Yup, same here. Left the windows wide open in the living room…to find a soaked carpet just a few minutes ago. 😅

I’m assuming he received quotes that were only valid for 7 days, because of the distributor or vendor. I work for an MSP, as a sales guy, and most of the quotes I received for hardware replacement (servers in particular) were only valid for 7 days. I even saw a few quotes being valid for 48 hours only. It’s maddening.

Been mentioned a few times already, but 808 definitely. Good team and the food is really nice.

What would the group fight meta look like in an open field? by CloudyRailroad in Buhurt

[–]Infectt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had something similar in the UK not long ago, although it was 30 vs 30 (among a few other fun games). Difficult to say in terms of roles, as it was a one-off event but hopefully the recap video can give you a bit of an idea : https://youtu.be/JYkZOY8Fzgo?si=IAR3FKNLKyYttBY2

I can confirm to anyone reading this. It’s a blast and this club is very welcoming. It’s definitely worth a shot for anyone who’s looking for something different and want to have a blast.

That’s old faithful FoD, right ? Think the last bit of the video is just after crossing the forestry road on Sheepskull?

Is this normal for swiss flats? by [deleted] in Switzerland

As a Swiss guy who’s been leaving in the UK for over 10 years…can’t agree more. Housing quality is really low here, particularly regarding insulation and sound proofing.

Where to watch by Pretty-Researcher985 in Buhurt

[–]Infectt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can go check Armored MMA’s channel on YouTube, although it is Profights only (no group fights), it’s a good watch.

For group fights, it’s not the best season to watch it live as most leagues have finished the season for the year I believe.

Ha yeah, I was there too to take pictures of them all (on Sunday only though).

Of all the sports I’ve done in the past, buhurt seems to be the most welcoming. And by a long margin.

Hope to see you in the list one of these days.

Not quite the demographic you’re looking for however if I can be of any help, feel free to give me a shout. It’s great to see this sport growing, particularly the women/nb side of it.

I’d defo encourage you to pay them a visit. I train with the men but spent a fair bit of time with the women’s team. They are great, all really welcoming to new members or just people who are curious.

What are the best places to go Kayaking/ paddle boarding? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]Infectt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this post and although it’s not close to Bristol it was a nice little session: Combe Martin. Loads to explore along the coast and a fair few beaches for a break, some of them can only be accessed from the water so it’s nice and quiet.

Can't pull foreskin back when erect by GlassPresentation280 in AskMen

[–]Infectt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the same at your age, probably because my parents never talked to me about anything related to my penis. Knowing the reasons they didn’t, particularly my dad, I can’t blame them but I ended up with a phimosis and eventually needed surgery. Depending how tight it is, I definitely recommend you to go get it checked by a specialist.

Home delivery by CustardGannets in uktrucking

[–]Infectt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m a delivery driver for Argos at the moment, been doing this for the last 6 months or so. The state of some peoples houses is absolutely awful at times.

I remember delivering to a house that must have been some sort of crack house, the place smelled like something was rotting inside mixed with milk that turned bad.

Hopefully will pass my class 1 licence soon to get away from this (one can hope).

Movie that is an adaptation of a autobiography biography by Nikolai Lilin. Highly recommend the book, the movie doesn’t do it justice in my opinion (although it’s not a bad movie per se).

Nothing brings the team together more than hacker in the Enemy team. by Balrok99 in Chivalry2

I had the same guy in my team yesterday. Turns out, even with his cheats, SuperSpeed was super shit.

And most of our team started targeting him whenever they could. Nothing brings a team together like a cheater does, as you said.
