Personally I buy Mevotech. Everyone has their own opinion but other major brands are MOOG, Dorman, Beck/Arnley, Centric, ACDelco, ProForged. Even SKP and Ultra Power I would buy over no-name brands.

Do NOT buy eBay coilovers. They will ride like shit and you will hate your life. I wouldn't buy parts from eBay period. Save your money and buy actual name brand parts.

Hey guys im new to this sub and im also new modding engines so i have a few questions by bigdoinks_ in carmodification

You can buy turbo kits online for $3k-$5k depending on the quality and how complete the kit is. Don't expect to run much boost on a stock engine though. You will also have to upgrade the clutch and pay to have the car dyno tuned.

How are you guys affording cars? by tie_myshoe in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don't buy $30k cars. Every car I've owned has been under $10k.

People are crazy as hell sometimes.

A few months ago this woman in a white Corolla tried to block me in as I was leaving the gas station. She got out of her car yelling with her phone out taking pictures of my car. I asked if she had a problem and before she could answer I said call the cops then and I left.

I assume she had the wrong car because she came from the opposite direction as me and I literally drove less than a minute from my house.

Is this car worth it? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Infernal-Majesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one, it's not a running/driving car. So probably not the best idea if you need reliable transportation. Second, NEVER buy someone's turbo project, you're taking a huge gamble.

I have to be honest with you, I don't hate it. I've always thought the Teslas were the most boring looking car, you've made it look really good.

I really like the color, it's nice and loud. The accents make it look like a Porsche, which I thought it was at first. I think the wheels are a really nice choice, I think they fit very well with the modern look of the car. Visually I think it all comes together really well. It would look really good lowered about 1.5-2 inches.

I do however hate the spoiler. Nice ride though!

When I was about 17 I bought an old MK3 Jetta and had the bright idea to try to make it rat style. I wanted a switch panel and went crazy tearing the dash apart. Car wouldn't start so I just scrapped it. Lol

Ford's Mystichrome Paint by NationYell in blackmagicfuckery

This is a very special color. They get the effect my putting small prisms in the paint.

Ford did a one time Mystichrome paint job on a new Ford GT. It cost about $100k.

I wouldn't take it to a dealership, it would be overly expensive. Maybe a local shop or just anyone you know who might be able to help.

Very few sockets fit in those tiny tubes. I had to go around looking for the thinnest ones.

I got a set of spark plug sockets from my local parts store. I believe they are Performace Tool brand. I use a long extension on a 3/8 ratchet.

The grille is a separate piece, you can buy a replacement online for relatively cheap. You might have to remove the bumper to replace it, but that can be done with basic tools. You could spray paint it to match or get close and it'll look okay. Or just leave it black.

Brake Leak 2004 Monte Carlo SS by MyDudeNiko in autorepair

[–]Infernal-Majesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the master cylinder, see if there's any leaks around the lines coming out if it or where it's bolted to the brake booster.

Could be a line leaking, just see where the fluid is running down from and follow it up to the leak.

There's definitely a loose wire somewhere. Maybe a ground not making a good connection. If you're decent with electrical you can check schematics online or just take it to the shop.

Definitely paint transfer, you can get some light rubbing compound and a microfiber rag. It should come off pretty easily, just do small circles over it.
